Probably as good as the Microsoft product that was pictured. So I decided to keep it, the price was right. I do think however the seller should show a picture of what is being shipped. Just good business practice.

Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable Review

(More customer reviews)The reason that I ended up buying the VGA cable was due to the fact that the component signal (both 720p and 1080i) is subject to overscan. This means that the screen "zooms in" slighty so that you are sure to see a complete picture with no black or static edges. This is a problem though with the Xbox 360 because it ends up cropping the image. For example, the HUD in GRAW is cutoff on the corners when using the component cables. This really bothered me so I gave the VGA a try and viola!
I can now go into the dashboard settings and specify 1360 x 768 which closely matches my LCD's native resolution of 1368 x 768. Thus, I am able to see the whole screen without any overscan/cropping. The only downside is that the overall image gets "washed out" when using the VGA cable. However, this is not really a big deal because most of the newer games (GRAW, Oblivion) have an in-game setting for brightness which you can turn down to eliminate the washed out look.
I highly recommend that you at least give the VGA cables a try. Depending on your TV, you may or may not like them. No big deal though because you can just return them. However, you may find that you really like them and will be glad that you tried them out! (More customer reviews)The picture quality is great, it's not missing the digital audio plug unlike some of the other 3rd party cables (it has a cover that you need to take off when you want to use it though).
If you've been looking for a cheap solution (the official cable is $40) to do HDMI to DVI-D + audio or HDMI + digital audio, this is the perfect way to go because the end that connects to the 360 is tapered so both cables can connect.

(More customer reviews)It's a monster cable for 20 bucks so I guess you would expect it work flawlessly; it does. Maybe the product has changed since it last got reviewed by the May 2006 reviewer, but mine came with the Toslink adapter. Not sure what to do with it though, didn't need it. The monster cable plugged right into the stock XBOX 360 adapter. The Toslink adapter that is included is probably required if you bought the other Monster XBOX 360 Component cable set. Not sure.
Anyway, if you want to plug a digital cable into the stock xbox 360 adapter and into a music system, this'll probably do the trick.
The price is great too. A regular 4' fibre optic cable is retailing for $30.

I've tested my monitor with my computer (VGA input) and tested my friend's xbox 360's with the connection. Definitely, the cable is damaged/faulty. The ghosting takes place over the entire area of the screen about 4-7 pixels to the right of the real image. Of course, it is more visible between high contrast images (displayed). There is image flickering (brightness is varying quickly) on the lower 1/4 of the screen. I've sent Importer520 an e-mail through Amazon.com and will attempt to get a replacement cord. If quality is bad a second time, I will request my money back. Worst thing about this is the slowness of shipping. Will probably have to wait another 2.5+ weeks to play. Will update this post as I get feedback from Importer520. I would not recommend this product as it didn't work the first time. Gave it 2 stars because audio does work well.

I kept on getting 2 refresh rate lines, coming down my screen, I tried a high end LCD and a CRT monitor and both had the same refresh rate lines coming down, the image quality was terrible (grainy). The price was appealing, but they are terrible cables.
I ended up going to the local store and buying the Microsoft VGA HD cables and have never been happier.
Intec is not responding to e-mails (apparently these cables have a lifetime warranty..HA!!)
I would sugged buying the Microsoft VGA cables instead and don't waste your time (as others have suggested)

(More customer reviews)I've been wanting to develop a multi-display system for the various Rock Band parties that I host. The idea is, instead of having the "performers" with their backs to the "audience" while they "perform" in front of a TV or an LCD Projector. The multi-display system will provide a single display for each "performer" (perhaps two for the drummer, positioned to the right and left of the drum kit) and perhaps even a couple of TVs or LCD Projectors facing the "audience".
So far I've got four 17" VGA 1024x768 LCD Displays with VESA mounts. My first step was to find a VGA video cable for my Xbox 360 that would provide an acceptable display, most importantly the lyrics in a four member multiplayer session. When the cable arrived, I realized I had not done my homework. I looked at many cables and didn't realize that only SOME have the optical audio output. This cable DOES NOT! However it does have stereo RCA outputs so, not a total loss. Rock Band does take slight advantage of surround sound with some of the accessory audio but of course the songs are only available in stereo.
Anyway, I hooked the cable up to my 360 and one of the VGA displays and powered up the console. The display was quite good. When I went into the Xbox display settings, it had defaulted to 800x600. I adjusted the resolution to 1024x768 and was still very happy with the display. I started a four member multiplayer session so I could check the readability of the lyrics for the vocalist and was very happy with the results.
Now it's time to order a four port VGA splitter/amp to see how it looks on four displays.
While doing my research on XBox 360 VGA Cables I read many complaints about ghosting. I'm wondering if this was the result of selecting higher resolutions. This won't be an issue for me since I'll be running the 1024x768 native resolution of my LCD display.

(More customer reviews)This cable is complete junk. I thought I would be able to save a few bucks and go with a third party cable, BIG MISTAKE.
On the up side the shipping was quick and cheap, but that doesn't save this review from the horrible quality of this product. It constantly produces a "double vision" effect, where there is a second instance of everything on screen. I thought I could put up with it, so I used it for a week, it was so terrible that by the second day I was getting migraines. I know what i'm doing and how to configure my setup, you can adjust the contrast and some overdrive settings to make it less noticible, but its still what I would consider terrible video quality.
Trust me, if you need to hook up to a VGA port for HD (I run at 1920x1080), just go with the real deal from microsoft, 40 bucks is steep but dont keep wasting your cash on third party junk.

(More customer reviews)Gaming on a VGA monitor with a 360 is a mixed bag. Sure everything's now much clearer and defined, but for some reason there's an overall "washed out" look. Sure you can adjust the settings on your monitor but there's still a loss of color vibrance, even SDTV's perform better in this regard. It doesn't help that Microsoft won't acknowledge this problem. So I was looking for a solution to this thinking maybe I need a different brand of cables. One poster on a message board couldn't stop singing praises for this, claiming it fixes all the aformentioned problems, in fact looking back he was probably a corporate plant. So I took the plunge and ordered it. And to my dismay it still had the same washed out look, there was no improvement in picture quality at all. So if you're looking for a VGA solution for the XBox 360 just stick with the original Microsoft product, it's the same quality and you save more money anyway. I hope this review helps you out, I certainly wish I had read something like this.

But then I purchased the system for my niece and then purchased this cable thinking it was the MICROSOFT XBOX 360 version, the title was misleading and what I got was a poor ripoff. I bought a cable a few months back and the picture was terrible!!! That one was just labled as "VGA xbox cable". So this time I decided to purchase another one.I had seen this one for a GREAT price and the name MICROSOFT, so I bought it. But when I got it, turns out to be the same cheap cable I had purchased months before. Both have GHOST effects on the screen. It's alright if you use it on a 15- 19 inch monitor, but anything bigger the Ghosting is worse. She'll have to use this until I get the Official Microsoft svga cable.
