(More customer reviews)I got this controller because it was cheaper than the official brand and for its turbo fire abilities, but I regret it. The controller is very bulky and awkward to hold. The triggers are very hard to push in and sensitivity is really low; you have to push in really hard to get it to work because the spring's so strong. Also, the sticks cannot be clicked in when it is pushed forward, which is essential for games like Call of Duty to sprint. The only advantage this controller has over the official brand is the turbo fire abilities, but there's rarely a time where you can use them. If you use them online, you'll get reported for cheating. Also, many new shooter games have added a firing cap on guns to prevent turbo fire abilities. Spend the extra $10 for the official Microsoft controller; it'll save you money because you won't have to replace this controller in the first place.

There's no losing or confusing this bad boy as the bright red radiation symbol is plastered across the face plate. Not shown in detail is the carbon-fiber-esc print on the black areas, giving it just the perfect subtlety.
In the past I had purchased the limited edition red controller, and had to return it because the triggers would squeak, very annoying, and not normal for a brand new controller. I was hesitant at first, fearing that this one would have the same problem, but it doesn't!! No annoying squeak = Happy gamer. Hope this helps someone, Enjoy!

Street Fighter IV Round 2 FightPad Review

(More customer reviews)Well, The SF4 round 2 fightpad is almost exactly the same as the round 1 model. The only change is the artwork, obviously. The buttons feel responsive with the exception of the ones on the shoulders. I feel as if the shoulder buttons don't depress enough to give me the satisfaction of pressing a button, but they do make a clicking sound so it's acceptable. The rubber grips work well I suppose, my hands don't sweat at all even if I play for hrs. I personally think that the "turbo" button is too close to the "back" button, I used to hit it accidentally while trying to press back(until I opened up the controller and removed the turbo button lol). The D-Pad still has its huge size but I don't mind at all as moves come out easier. If I had to describe how it feels, I'd say its like the D-Pad was placed on the shaft of joystick. I have 2 MAJOR gripes with these controllers. 1. The plastic MC uses on the D-Pad is too slippery(coming from a man whose hands don't sweat during play). I modified my D-Pad to my liking, some people prefer it the way it is. My 2nd gripe with the controller is that after awhile of heavy use, the D-Pad gets "mushy" and sometimes sticks in place. I opened up the controller and discovered that the mushiness was a result of the silicon membrane(the thing that makes buttons pop back up after you press em') underneath the D-Pad was actually breaking!!! I find that unacceptable since my wired 360 controller which I had for over 3 years still works fine. Maybe madcatz should sell silicon membranes for the people who spend $40 a pop just to get a new one(since the controller itself is fine, just the D-Pad membrane). So is this controller good for fighting games, YES. Would I buy another one if this one malfunctions, NO. Hope you found this helpful.

(More customer reviews)This is a good looking controller, with some improvements over the original design. A lot of people are complaining about the lack of color on the a,b,x,y buttons, but I don't need them to have color anyway.
I like the new texture of the controller. It isn't a slippery surface and has a little tackier/rougher feel. Makes it easier to hold onto if your hands sweat. I also like that they added a bit of resistance to the thumbsticks. This should also help fix the problem of the thumbsticks getting "floaty" after some use. The trigger buttons also now have a curve, but doesn't really have an impact on use or feel for me, but okay design.
On to the directional pad. It still sucks. It is neat that you can convert it to a raised plus shape or more of a flat shape, but the underlying problem is still there. The d-pad is still on top of a disk, which makes it imprecise. I was trying to enter character names last night and had to use the thumbstick because the d-pad is so inaccurate. I would love it if they went to the ps3 style d-pad that is just four digital buttons instead of basically an analog directional pad.
Gave it 4 stars, would have been 5 if they fixed the d-pad.

We started unscrewing all the screws and we finally put everything in place, once we were going to screw the case on, the screw holes were too small and were stripped. I have a lot of experience with detaching and reattaching the controller shells on 360 Controllers. Anyway, I put his original black Microsoft shell back on and it went on like a charm. I sent an email stating that I want my money back, and no answer, I am very disappointed and so is my nephew.

(More customer reviews)I've owned the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows device for about a week, and the only thing I am unhappy about is that I waited so long to buy this controller.
Combined with Xpadder, a free program that lets you emulate key presses and mouse movements directly from the controller (google the program), the 360 controller has become a great way to websurf, play games (e.g. Gears of War, Resident Evil 4), and even control media applications such as Cyberlink PowerDVD. If you don't want to bother programming the Xpadder software yourself, you can download predefined profiles for each of your programs and modify them as you see fit. The range of the controller is sufficient for me, but I have a pretty small apartment :-) I do not know how long the batteries will last and I am considering getting some kind of rechargeable setup. I've run this controller on both Windows XP and Windows Vista without any bugs or other problems.
Overall, I rate this product a 4.5/5.0 stars. The only modification I would make to the controller is to disable it's 'auto-off' feature that shuts down the controller automatically after around 10 - 15 minutes of disuse. When you are reading a web page for a long period of time or watching a movie, having to hit the 'on' button on the center of the pad before you can use the controller again is a minor annoyance. However, for most people who will use this controller primarily for gaming, this is not a problem at all and is instead a battery preserving feature, thus the deduction of only 0.5 stars.
I highly recommend this product.

(More customer reviews)I write this review as someone who has gone through both the original rock band guitar and the rock band 2 guitar, and this review is mainly aimed at people who are already familiar with these sort of things. In a nutshell, this guitar can be exactly described as a rock band 2 guitar that looks like a rock band 1 guitar. It retains all the upgrades of the RB2 guitar, including quieter frets and a sensor to auto-calibrate game lag, while looking like the original black RB1 guitar (a step backwards IMO, as I much prefer the wood grain sunburst design of the RB2 guitar).
I can't find any improvements or differences besides the rock band logo being emblazoned on one end of the guitar strap. The product description advertises quieter fret buttons "over the original" which must refer to the RB1 guitar since I feel and hear no difference compared to the RB2 guitar.
Overall it's still a solid guitar controller... it's just disappointing that no effort was made to improve it in any way.

This replacement cover seems to be much stronger, like it is a single plastic mold rather than two or three pieces glued together. It fits perfect and you almost can't tell from outside that it's a replacement part. I was also having problems with the batteries losing contact fairly easily before, and that problem was resolved with this new cover.

(More customer reviews)Ok the grips are great, fit PERFECTLY over the controller, and really help you keep your grip. This is my third set of grips, these are different from the others because it supports Plug and play controllers. The other grips had a strap going across the top, making it hard to put the charge cable in with out moving the strap around first (eventually they tore at the top). The black grips feel like they are made of a different material than the colored or clear gel grips, i like it much more than the gels. My one complaint with these is they left out a connector at the top of the grip between the triggers and the bumpers, so now the controller has little flaps sticking out the top. Would have 5 stars if they fix this minor design flaw, although this does not affect the performance of the grips, great grips otherwise.

(More customer reviews)I don't often post reviews online, but I was so disappointed by this product that I was moved to make an exception. Three of the four games (Lumines, Geometry Wars 2, and Bomberman) are included on a disc. The box includes a code that allows you to download Ms. Pac-Man from Live. For people who have hard drives and Xbox Live (which really should be everyone), this latter solution is the only one that makes any sense at all. You dial in the code, download the game, and it's as simple as any other XBLA game from there on out. The other three games all must be played off the disc - it does not permit you to play them like you would regular XBLA games. However the software code is largely unchanged, so that the games themselves don't recognize they are being played off a disc. Bomberman simply doesn't work - it tries to force you to download an update of the game, but because you never downloaded it in the first place, the "update" would cost the full $10, and it won't allow you to play without the update. Lumines and Geometry Wars 2 are at least playable, but I don't know if Lumines DLC is compatible. That's iffy at best and I wasn't willing to risk it. I will be calling Xbox support, which isn't something you should have to do minutes after opening the box.
In sum: it is more of a hassle than necessary, poorly thought out, and one of the four games simply doesn't work. I am extremely disappointed and cannot recommend this product.
