Xbox 360 Rock Band Wireless Fender Telecaster Player's Edition Replica Review

(More customer reviews)I got the Butterscotch colored replica. I had to order it from another vendor because Amazon lists the Butterscotch color as currently unavailable.
If your in the market for a guitar you know how they work so I won't bore you with stuff that isn't different than a stock guitar.
1. The Fret buttons are very nice. They move up and down quickly, are quiet, and are a bit larger than the standard RB2 Strat buttons. I would say maybe 3 or 4 millimeters fatter. Don't get this if your a lefty though as the keys don't surround both sides of the guitar and you would be unable to effectively play if your left handed.
2. The touch overdrive is really nice. I personally chose this guitar for that feature. It is placed above the strum bar rather then below like the GH Guitars. Also it isn't a function button, so you don't have to press it down, just touch. It's really nice for me because I tend to hose things up when trying to tilt into overdrive. Tilt still works, but the touch bar is far superior.
3. The whammy bar is pretty nice. It is solid metal and is adjustable to the side if you prefer. It is tensioned a bit strong by default but you can adjust it via a nut/bolt underneath to your preference.
4. Xbox buttons are placed well and the start/select buttons are a knob now. Pretty cool I thought. Also the whah whah adjuster is vertical now and more out of the way which is nice.
5. The strum bar is a mixed bag for me. It is a "click" bar like the GH guitars so it can be noisy. Also the one I received requires you to bottom out the down strum for a register which is odd. I am going to play with it a bit, it may just need some breaking in. Otherwise the strum is pretty standard fair and works well.
6. Can't say enough nice things about the strap. It's comfortable, easy to adjust, and just overall awesome.
7. Lastly the overall design is nice. The butterscotch color looks really nice and the head has non functional, but movable tuning knobs which is cool. It is a bit thicker than the strat but a hair shorter. I kind of expected it to be longer than the strat but it is not. The Chrome parts look really nice.
Overall I give this 4 stars. It's a nice guitar with some flaws that will be mostly preference to the user. If you have the bones to put down on it, try it out.

Guitar Hero World Tour - Stand Alone Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)I own the corded Guitar Hero II guitar, the wireless Les Paul from Guitar Hero III, the Rock Band 2 guitar, and this guitar from Guitar Hero World Tour. I've played these guitar games starting when Guitar Hero II came out for the Xbox 360. I play both GH and RB pretty equally and love both games so I'm not here to put RB or GH down like a fanboi.
By far this is the most responsive guitar of them all. Strumming is quick and effortless and just feels right compared to the other guitars. I'm so used to the responsiveness that when I play with other guitars it puts me at a disadvantage and I mess up more.
I also prefer how this guitar--like the other Guitar Hero guitars--have slightly raised buttons for the frets (the colored buttons on the neck) as opposed to the Rock Band guitars which are sunken. It's much easier to slide up and down with the GH guitars.
At first I thought the slider button was a stupid gimmick, but after I learned to keep my left hand on the regular frets and use my right hand (that I usually strum with) on the sliders it is a lot more fun. I actually look for songs that feature the sliders now. It really adds to the "rocker experience" when you're tapping the slider bar.
In the end, I recommend this guitar just for the simple fact that it feels better playing in your hand. I've had it the 1st day Guitar Hero World Tour came out and I've never had any problems with it. I'm not saying there aren't any problems, just saying for me this instrument has been solid and a joy to use.

Guitar Hero III: Polycarbonite Faceplate Kit Review

(More customer reviews)I have added a photo of three of the other faceplate's to the Amazon photos. After only having this 2 days we have managed to already misplace 2 of them. However if I locate them, I will add a picture of them as well.
They all are made of a glossy paper, about as thick as construction paper. This set comes with 1 clear plastic cover that you use for interchanging each of these paper faceplate's. The plastic cover does not feel flimsy at all. It feels quite thick and well made. Once you have the faceplate's on the guitar, they look great and it makes it look like a whole new guitar. Taking the old plate off and putting these on is very simple and took about 30 seconds. They are a perfect fit and do not interfere with any of the buttons in any way.
I highly recommend these as an affordable way to change up the appearance of you guitar!

Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii Official Rock Band 2 Electro-Harmonix Overdrive Pedal Review

(More customer reviews)The Electro-Harmonix Overdrive pedal plugs into a RockBand 2 guitar controller and allows the user to go into overdrive mode by clicking the pedal with his or her while playing, as opposed to lifting the neck of the guitar, which is the usual method of invoking overdrive mode. For those unfamiliar with Rock Band, overdrive mode is a temporary effect where the user earns more than the usual number of points for successful play.
I suppose there are two reasons why one might want to use this functionality. Most importantly, it adds to the fantasy of being a rock star. This pedal looks like a real guitar pedal, and I definitely feel like I'm kicking up the song a notch when I stamp on it. However, it should be noted that while a real guitar pedal would alter the sound of the guitar when activated, this pedal only turns on a point bonus. The only actual change in sound when you turn on overdrive are the cheers that erupt from your virtual crowd.
Using the pedal to trigger overdrive might be easier for some people than the default method of lifting the neck of the guitar. However, while it is true that lifting the guitar can sometimes be difficult while playing, I found using the pedal to be even more distracting. There were times when I needed to look down in order to find the pedal. Furthermore, it was a little bit uncomfortable to click the pedal in bare feet (maybe not such an uncommon state of dress for your average RockBand champion), and that took my attention off the game screen.
To sum up, this is by no means a necessary addition to your Rock Band setup, and it won't make going into overdrive mode any easier, but this could be some nice icing on the cake of your rock star fantasy.

Logitech Xbox 360 Wireless Guitar Controller Review

(More customer reviews)That was my first thought upon unboxing Logitech's Xbox 360 Wireless Guitar Controller. The second thing I noted, as I lifted it out, was that it is very heavy. This is no cheap plastic toy! This is a solid, well-constructed, replica guitar. And the quality shows.
Inside the box, the guitar is well protected for shipping with bubble wrap and cardboard spacers. Of note is the fact that this is a one piece unit. This completely eliminates the connectivity issues between the neck and body, as sometimes seen in guitar controllers that come boxed as two pieces. The guitar measures 33.75 inches from tip to base, with a slightly larger body than my Guitar Hero World Tour guitar, which measures only 31.25 inches in length (see the photo I posted with this review). This extra length pushes the fret buttons up a little bit, but I did not find this to be an issue. I store my guitars on a stand, but if you use a guitar bag or case, be aware that it might not fit. Rounding out the included accessories are a user manual, a quality strap, some batteries to get you up and playing fast, and an adapter for older style Xbox 360 headsets.
IMPRESSIONS
The guitar itself is modeled after Guitar Hero guitars, with the raised fret buttons and the neck slider feature. Keep this in mind if you are someone who prefers the look of the Rock Band guitars, with their in-line fret buttons. The chrome detailing, including tuning pegs and bridge, and use of real screws in the white pick guard lends an authentic look, effectively disguising the Start (bridge) and Star Power buttons (pickups) while keeping them functional. There is even an authentic looking nut between the headstock and the neck. The Star Power button sits right under the ball of your hand, so it's easy to press down on while strumming (you can also still rock Star Power with a neck tilt). The strum bar is the best I have ever seen on a guitar controller. It has exactly the right tactile feel, and is responsive yet quiet. One of my fret buttons makes a bit of a clickety-clack when I hit it, but I am hoping this goes away as it wears in. Overall, this is a quiet guitar, allowing for more enjoyment of the music.

(More customer reviews)I was hesitant to buy the stand without a picture or review, but decided to take a chance since it was less expensive than the others and in the description sounded like the right item. It is exactly what I was looking for. It easily holds guitar hero and rockband guitars and feels sturdy on my fireplace landing. It takes up very little room. It has nice metal construction and is easy to assemble out of the box. It is easy to convert to a mic stand which is what I really wanted and needed. It comes with an extra extending pole that can extend it to 6 foot, but you do have to take off the part that holds the guitars to put that on. This is not a huge problem as it quickly unscrews, but some might want to know. I keep the mic extension in one of the extra guitar slots, since I only have a couple of guitars. Overall, I think that this is great for someone who has a couple of extra guitars, but also wants the mic stand to sing and play. It looks identical to the pictures of the out of stock React Guitar/mic Stand on Amazon. I hope this helps.

Xbox 360 Les Paul Wireless Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)This is the second guitar to come packaged with a Guitar Hero game on Xbox 360. This product is guitar only; click the bundle option if you need to buy Guitar Hero III as well. Buy this to get another copy of the best--for playing purposes--guitar on the Xbox 360.
This guitar is great and works on both GH II/III as well as on Rock Band. The strum is reliable, though loud, and the frets are responsive. Other nice features are that it is black, can be customized with faceplates, and is wireless. Two AA batteries last a good while, maybe 20-40 hours.
The sole downside is that the edge of the guitar where your lower arm may rest is not really comfortable, so your skin may feel a bit chafed after extended play. Still recommended over anything else, especially that Rock Band guitar, which doesn't even work on Guitar Hero.
