(More customer reviews)After getting tired of sifting through pages of various headsets, I decided to go ahead and drop my money on this one simply because I'd been searching for so long that I felt I'd never find a perfect set. Thankfully, this set delivers. The sound is great and doesn't leak at all, and if you can fit on your ear correctly, you'll forget it's there. The in-line volume comes in handy when you don't have time to pull up in-game menus, and the set can go in either ear pretty easily. Be careful with pulling on the tip of the mouthpiece, though, because I believe that's what happened to mine and while it still works, it's a little more difficult to use. Docked a single star because of the cord's tendency to tangle and the mouthpiece not always staying close enough for others to hear me.

Halo Reach Wireless Xbox 360 Headset Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this headset to match my Xbox 360 250GB Halo Reach Console Bundle. The headset looks great, comes with a USB power charger, additional earpiece, and instruction manual. It looks and feels rugged too which I like. It is definitely not flimsy by any means.
Voice clarity is great, good range on it...I go outside of my house to smoke a cigarette in between games and I can still talk to my friends on it and hear them just fine. Charges quick and last about 8 hours of gaming before another quick charge is needed.
Overall I am very satisfied with this mic, the HALO look of it is just a bonus. 5-stars from me.

Plantronics Gamecom X95 Review

(More customer reviews)After having several of the cheap, flimsy official XBox 360 headsets break over the years, I finally decided to upgrade to a sturdier one. After doing a LOT of research, I decided to try out the new Gamecom X95 from Plantronics. While Turtle Beach offers excellent headsets, I found the prices a little too beyond my range, especially for the wireless ones (Turtle Beach X31, X41). I know Plantronics is new to this market, but from using their telephone headsets frequently at work, I knew they boasted very high quality. While an official, wired Xbox 360 headset will run you around $20, I managed to get these for $33 through Amazon's Warehouse Deals (with free shipping). If they were not to my satisfaction, I would have just returned them for a refund. To my delight, they have proven to be an outstanding headset. The sound quality is exceptional; I was surprised to see that it wasn't Dolby Surround Sound after listening to them. It's so good that you'd swear they were. There's a lot of bass, and you'll pick up on things you'd never hear just through your television. The setup was simple, although the instructions could have been a little more detailed. You just plug the audio outputs (red and white cables) from the XBox through the ones included with the adapter, pop in the batteries, plug into your controller, and you're good to go. Keep in mind the wireless is only the sound from the television; you still have to plug into the controller to chat. With that in mind, if you wanna save the batteries, you can leave the headset feed from the television off but still use the chat function without draining them. They are much more stylish and comfortable than your basic XBox 360 headset. The earphones are nicely padded, and I haven't noticed any discomfort with wearing them for a long period of time. A great advantage of these headphones is that you can mute your television while still receiving the volume input through the headphones, preventing others from being annoyed at the loudness. In that regard, they'd be excellent for watching DVDs or Netflix while not disturbing others. The mic can be shortened and tucked away under the left earpiece for convenience. Honestly, my only complaint is that the wire from the headset to the controller is a little bit short; for most intents and purposes, it's fine, but it could use a little more range. That's just getting nitpicky though. I was extremely fortunate to get them for so cheap. I would be willing to spend much more for a headset of this quality. Fortunately, you don't have to. For $59, this headset is a steal next to the more expensive alternatives. You won't regret it!

As far as the headset, the volume is much louder than the headset from MS that comes with the 360. I've also heard that I come across much more clear using this headset, which is good. The louder volume is a big thing with me as I thought the original headset was just too low.
The big negative to the headset, as the previous user attested to, is the fit of the right side of the headset. It's just too tight on your head after a reasonable amount of gaming. Unfortunate too, because the rest of the headset is very high quality.

(More customer reviews)For $80, I was expecting more. These things are large, and the included stand is lightweight and falls over. They fit comfortably on my head, but the plastic feels cheap and the band isn't as tight as I would like. I have a normal sized head, so the cranium isn't the issue.
Sound quality is on the high end of average. Extreme bass doesn't sound that great when cranked up, but at reasonable volumes, it is just fine.
If I had to do it over again, I would probably buy something else spending a little more if necessary. If you need wireless headphones that also allow you to talk on XBOX live, I don't know of a competing product that beats this.

(More customer reviews)The standard xbox 360 headset that came with my original purchase recently stopped working and I promptly started searching the internet for a worthy replacement. When I found this headset I must admit I was a little bit skeptical after reading the reviews and seeing the rating. However, I couldn't be happier with the headset-earbud.
My original buying specs were the following:
* Nothing over-the-head (I am tired of looking like the Burger King drive through manager while playing a game. I also love playing quick games of COD MW2 before doing something and the nasty hair imprint the over-the-head sets leave you with is annoying when wanting to go out after)
* Comfortable to wear (lets face it, sometimes the time can fly by when you get into an online game and if the headset hurts it will take away from the experience)
* Good sound/mic quality (Again, if the quality is terrible it will hurt the experience)So after getting this headset:
Pros:
* Comfort: I have worn many ear-bud style headphones and can say that the cushion that comes with these, added to the support it has below the ear, makes it almost unnoticeable for extended game-play. The trick is that you DO NOT shove it into your ear but rest it just slightly inside of the ear lobe while relying on the under-support to keep it in place. If worn properly, you will quickly forget it is attached. It also comes with an extra ear-bud cushion in case you lose it or it somehow rips.
* Quality: I am playing a game, not listening to Bach so hitting all of the different audible ranges is irrelevant. The important thing is my friends hear me clearly and I can hear them clearly. No static, no problems with picking up background noise or even muffled sounds. As with the comfort factor, make sure it is worn properly so the mic is slightly away from your cheek to avoid muffled sounds.
* Other stuff: The jack fits nicely into the standard xbox 360 controller. It even seems to be a bit more secure than the standard headset did. It has the ability to mute and adjust sound on the cord. Cord length is also longer than the standard headset, which is great since I have a habit of pulling it out of the controller due to its short length.
Cons:
Really don't have any. It is what I expected and love using it.
Conclusion
For $9.99 it was a great price and I can't be happier with the product. I would and have recommended this to my friends. If you are looking for the same things I was above, look no further.

(More customer reviews)This is the most comfortable headset I've worn - I even forget it's on my ear it's so light. You mute by pressing the middle button on the ear piece (one quick press)which is quick and simple to do. To remind you you're muted a tone beeps every 30 seconds or so (I haven't exactly timed it.)Another quick press turns off mute. All button touches sound a tone so you know it worked. A steady press turns it off (or on)- again with a longer indicator tone.
Sound is excellent - and volume can also be easily adjusted by two curved buttons on either side of the middle on/off/mute button - but once I set it I haven't had to touch it since.
My voice comes over loud and clear - and surprisingly mine has not picked up any room noise at all. Even when one of my cats jumped up beside me and let out a loud meow the mike didn't pick up the sound.
I have used the stock headset (very annoying fit) and a wired ear bud with mike which would become extremely uncomfortable after an hour and actually irritate my ear that it'd be sore the rest of the day. This headset does not have this problem. I literally wore it 5 hours straight playing Black Ops and hardly was aware I had it on.
The one problem is it does have limited range. If I wander off to the next room it'll start to break up - go into the next room (the kitchen) and it loses connection completely. We're talking only a matter of 17 feet. Once it loses connection and you return in range most times you don't regain the connection. I have to turn off the headset completely - then back on. And often it still won't connect and I'll have to try again before it re-syncs itself.
Despite the limited range I still give it 5 stars because it is the best 360 headset I've used. Being wireless it is very convenient and it's completely unobtrusive.If I venture off to the kitchen I now just take off the headset and set it next to my controller now that I'm aware of its range.
Power lasts about 8 hours for me. I recharge via the USB plugged into my computer and it takes a few hours to fully charge. You have to charge it when you get it so that will give you a general idea of how long it'll take.
The black color is subdued and I can answer the door wearing it and it doesn't call attention to itself.
I likeit so much I picked up another for a spare. (On sale.)

(More customer reviews)I have been an xbox live subscriber for over 5 years now. I never minded the old xbox 1 headset but the plastic had a tendency to break (nothing a little duct tape couldn't fix). I was surprised when I bought the 360 as I found the new headsets actually went down in quality. They were uncomfortable to wear (reminded me of listening to my old Sony Walkman in the early 90's). The sound was terrible (full volume was about 75% of the xbox 1 headset's full volume). And worst of all is that they would continue to BREAK (only this time it was the wires, not the plastic). I actually went through 3... yes 'THREE' of the wired headsets before i had enough.
In comes the Microsoft wireless 360 headset. It was more than I wanted to spend but I figured it was cheaper than buying a new wired mic every month. First off, this thing is very comfortable. Anyone who uses blue tooth on their cellphone will feel right at home with this on. Second, the top volume is much louder, making listening much more easier. Also you can tell right away that the audio from the headset is 'crisper' and not so distorted, and from talking to others I understand that people will receive you voice as clear as a phone call. The charge will last about 6-8 hours (plenty of time for any gaming marathon) and as long as you remember to plug it in when you are done playing, you should never have a problem with the battery dying. The best part of all is that you will have to really try hard to break this sucker. The durability of this tiny device is impressive.
Now onto the negatives. There isn't much to say. I suppose for some the volume control and mute being on the unit can be awkward but you get use to it. Also, once in awhile I found that it will randomly disconnect for a moment, though it will immediately reconnect itself. Really the only bad thing to say about this is the obvious... the price. As much as I love this headset and praise it, it did not have to be priced at $60. It would have been more sensibly priced at $40 in my opinion.
Overall though, if you have the money and like to chat with friends online I highly recommend this.

-Rechargeable Battery (6-8 hour life)
-Surprisingly Durable
Cons:
-Awkward volume controls
-can occasionally 'cut out' for a second or two

(More customer reviews)The "earloop" design is a little unsettling at first, but with a little readjusting it will fit quite comfortably (for many people, anyway). It does happen to be twice the size of most Bluetooth headsets currently available, but since this is the first wireless headset for the Xbox 360, I'll give them a little bit of leeway. Also, the lightweight nature of its design somewhat negates this fact. The unit also has no problems connecting with a 360 controller either. The real fault actually comes from using the headset on Xbox Live. You won't really notice any difference hearing other people than if you are using the regular wired headset, but the microphone is just the way too sensitive. While hosting a number of games, I noticed every once in a while there was a player whose microphone would seem to pick up a constant string of background noises, if not, the player breathing himself. That players mic always seemed to be constantly sending feedback (or white noise), as if they were constantly rubbing up against the mike. I now learned that it was actually a byproduct of the Wireless Headset itself, not the fact that someone just had and "over-sensitive" mic. Now that I knew the problem was in fact the wireless headset itself, I found that the only thing you could do was to turn it OFF and then back ON again, which would alleviate the problem. Depending upon which game you're using at the time, this might happen to you at least once every two hours. Yet, on other games it might not happen at all.
It's nice and having a wireless headset, but if you like to play a lot of Xbox Live (20+ hours a week), you might just want to stay with the standard wired headset. It might have an extra lyre going from the headset tier controller, but if you're like most people you probably don't really find it in the way that much. Unfortunately, since Microsoft has proprietary technology on any wireless product, will have to wait until they decide to fix the problem themselves. Honestly, just find yourself a normal headset for around $10-15 and you'll never have any trouble, because even though the wireless headset has dropped in price recently, it's really not worth the frustration at even $40. besides, we'll probably see a "streamlined" wireless headset version for Microsoft not too long from now -- then we don't need to deal with that "earloop" thing.

(More customer reviews)My Microsoft headset microphone stopped working after 7 months and my identical spare did not work out of the box (Microsoft did replace one with one that did work), so I swore off all Microsoft 360 headsets and went with the Plantronics X10 for Xbox 360. At first, it was a little snug but soon I got used to it. Works like a charm and all of my friends can now hear me loud and clear. I really like the volume/mute switch being inline because I can clip it to where I need it. At $14.99, this head set was cheaper than the Microsoft version. Hopefully, the Plantronics headset will last longer than the Microsoft set. I gave this headset 4 stars due to it's tighter than expected fit. All in all a better choice....so far.

(More customer reviews)I have tried the original Microsoft wireless headset and a newer model in black and have several friends that have tried them as well. We've all been complaining about the fact that they disconnect repeatedly throughout the gaming session and the chat comes across the tv. I decided to give the one by Datel a shot. Since I've used the Datel, I cannot recall one time that it has disconnected. It works identical in design to the Microsoft one in terms of function and controls. It even does the same beep as the Microsoft when muted. My only setbacks with this headset is that the battery lasts 3 hours at best. As the other reviewer said, it only alerts you once before going dead. I've noticed that after about an hour of use, I have to reposition the headset as it is not as comfortable as the Microsoft one which I could wear all night. The sound is much better than a wired headset, but not quite as sharp as the Microsoft wireless headset.
Overall, I'm very pleased that another company came out with a wireless headset that syncs directly with the xbox 360 and will stay connected unlike the Microsoft one. I think there can still be improvements though in battery life and comfort.
