Armored Core: For Answer Review

Armored Core: For Answer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've seen the Armored Core series before and heard bad things about Armored Core 4, but I wanted to give Armored Core 4A a try anyway since it sounded like they made your mechs more configurable and the gameplay more fun. I can't compare to the previous ones since I haven't seen them, but my hunch is they succeeded.
The game is fun and supports a variety of play styles (missiles or guns? Heavy or light?) with a wide variety of parts. There are even quite a bit of blades for melee combat and some ECM and counter-ECM gear. Configuration is fun and a huge part of the game.
The game features many large enemies such as naval vessels and quite a few huge arms forts. These forts are gargantuan in size and really fun to fight since they give you something to unleash loads of ordinance on that doesn't dodge out of the way rapidly and can blow you away with its immense firepower.
Although this is apparently a staple of the series, I didn't like the fact that I was limited to firing only three weapons at a time (left, right, and shoulder mounted weapons). You can swap between your arm weapons and back mounted weapons, but you can't fire your arm and back weapons simultaneously. This made me feel that perhaps the people who designed these awesome robots never thought of the idea that someone might want to actually fire everything.
I guess my last mech game was MechWarrior so I'm spoiled that way. Another staple of the MechWarrior series missing in Armored Core is the first person cockpit view. It seems like it'd be very easy to add (just move the camera forward a bit and hide your mech. Maybe add a crosshair), but you're limited to a third person view.
The parts have reams and reams of statistics associated with them, so designing a mech is not exactly simple, but this added to the richness of the game for me. I would have liked to have more money to spend early on so I'd have a little more variety in the parts I could stick on my mech when going up against a tricky mission.
Bottom line: Good game, lets you blow stuff up, supports a variety of styles of play, and seems to be an improvement from what I've seen of the series. I recommend this if you're into mechs or things that go boom.

WOW this game is fantastic! The gameplay is wonderful and videos pull you into the storyline. It took me a bit to get use to the flight stick but OMG its a must have for this game. save your money and get this bundle, also came with a cool face for the 360. if you love to Ace Combat series i strongly recomend this one. The missions get really hard at times since there are sub missions and you will have to go back and re-fuel and ammo up. you can face up to 300 units on one mission. The online blew my mind, its so much fun. This game is the best so far for the Ace Combat series, I only hope Microsoft will release more games that i can use the stick on (Mech warrior, X Wing...)

Heist allows you to become the leader of a group of renegade criminals as you rob and steal your way throughout San Francisco, while setting your sites on the big score - the Mint. It's 1969, the summer of love in San Francisco. Play as Johnny Sutton, fresh out of jail and a descendant from a long line of big-time thieves, including his father who was gunned down during a job some years back. Together with your Uncle Sal and reunited crew, you set off to pull off dozens of heists that will inevitably make a name for you as the greatest bank robber of all time. In addition to robbing banks, each with a specific set of security precautions, you will be highly motivated to pull off other jobs, including knocking off bars, restaurants, strip clubs, armored cars, and more; in order to acquire bigger and better tools needed to penetrate increasingly more difficult banks. After each hit, Heist will challenge you to make a quick getaway, speeding and screeching through the streets of San Francisco as the cops trail inches behind. The fuzz will do everything within their means to stop you from making the great escape. They will bump, ram, form barricades, and attempt to force PIT maneuvers to spin the getaway vehicle out of control, while trying to keep civilian losses to a minimum. Heist is designed so that you feel like part of the best robberies and car chases from classic movies.

SBK Superbike World Championship Review

SBK Superbike World Championship
Average Reviews:

I bought this over the Capcom MotoGP series after checking out some GameSpot reviews. Couldn't be more pleased. After getting wet with this game I went ahead and downloaded a demo of MotoGP. It had a pretty clunky feel to it, from controls to animation. Maybe THQ needs to buy back that franchise. Everyone dogs the tutorials for this game but when it comes down to it, you really just need to pound out 2 or 3 hours and it all starts to sink in. Upon installation I immediately shut off all the aids, but eventually went back to having a linked brake button and auto rider weight positioning. The L & R steering movement on the thumbstick needs all your attention. Having to integrate back & forward movement for rider lean using the same stick is just too damn much. The challenges are great and help build upon your skills and understanding of the physics. Graphics are on par with PS3 standards and, although I ain't a pro, the respective bike manufacturer variation seems to be pretty true to life. I guess it doesn't take a big name gaming label to get this sport right after all.

You can also leave the power connected and audio directly connected to the seat during game play.

Wired Racing Wheel of Xbox 360 Review

Wired Racing Wheel of Xbox 360
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The MC2 Racing Wheel by Mad Catz for the XBOX 360 does have pedals. I'm not sure what the previous reviewer was playing on. But, you'll see in the picture that there are pedals. The pedals are removable, so maybe his cousin didn't have them plugged in. For the price, this wheel is the best on the market. There are better wheels out there, if you're willing to shell out the cash. But for the price, this one can't be beat. You will be pleased with this wheel. PGR3 doesn't allow much customization for the MC2 wheel, such as dead zones and sensitivity. But that's more the fault of the game and not the wheel. I'm sure future driving/racing games will allow more customization for this wheel. The problem was PGR3 came out before this wheel was on the market. However, it still works well overall. It may take a little getting used to. The quality of the unit is great. It is comfortable with no-slip soft rubber on the wheel. My previous Mad Catz wheel for my 1st gen xbox still works great after years of use. I'm sure I'll get the same life from this new version. The wheel's resistance feels natural and the vibration feedback adds to the realism in games. The pedals and shifter work well too. I've seen the wheel as cheap as $59.99 in adds. It just can't be beat.

Fatal Inertia Review

This game has great graphics, but the courses are very short. Demo-version short. You won't believe how little space you cover before you see the message that you've gone another lap. Also, the AI is ridiculously skilled, and as the crafts you pilot are not that easily maneuvered, you're usually left in the dust. I wanted to like this, but I can't recommend it as is.

Dirt 2 Review

Dirt 2
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Coming from a background of Dirt, the Forza series, PGR series, Rallisport Challenge, and probably other racing games I have forgotten, I'm really enjoying Dirt 2. This review is based on about 10 hours with the demo, and 3 hours with the real game.
The racing in Dirt 2 is edge of control, white knuckle racing. The tracks are challenging, with most of those I've raced so far having a couple of nice high speed stretches, sweeping corners, and some tight, technical spots. One aspect that can make it that much scarier is that some tracks have multiple routes you can take. The differences are subtle, and the distance traveled is pretty much the same, but one will set you up for the next corner better than the other. This does introduce some intersection points in the track where the routes will cross which can lead to some nice t-bones. I found that I was physically cringing every time I ran through an intersection, full throttle, hoping for the best.
The different race modes include many types of off-road racing. There are timed point-to-point races where you won't see another car for the entire race, and there are rally cross style races where you can't seem to get through the race without hitting someone else. Both types are very entertaining. There are other types, but it basically boils down to whether or not there are other cars in your vicinity at the same time.
One feature in Dirt 2 that has made it much more enjoyable than the original Dirt is the flashbacks. There are few things more frustrating than coming to the end of a tight race, taking the last corner wrong, and getting 6th instead of 1st, or worse, totaling the car and getting a DNF. Flashbacks allow you to stop time, go back to a previous point in the race (seems like about 10 seconds or so max) and try that corner again. Obviously flashbacks are only available in tour mode, not in online play.
In tour mode you are able to set the difficulty for each race. Higher difficulty means the AI racers (which are quite good but also make mistakes) will be better and faster and that you will have fewer flashback, but you will also earn more prize money for winning the event.
Online play was available in the demo, and I spent 90 minutes playing with a close friend. We ran several races with others matched with us through xbox live. The rally type races were great. It was still point-to-point, timed, but everyone drove at the same time. The other cars on the track were only there for time reference. It was the other live drivers, but they were like ghost cars. In the other types, you are able to affect the other drivers by hitting them. I thought it was very enjoyable. Of course, the races can get dirty with people crashing into you all over the place, but that's a part of online play. I have not played online with the full version of the game, but I suspect the experience will be very similar.
I can see that I will be spending a lot of time in this game. The control is better than the original Dirt. The event selection is also a lot more engaging with real rally drivers inviting you to different parts of the world to compete. They have obviously put a lot of attention to detail in the game. The tracks and settings are immaculate. The cars are beautiful, and the other racers will even SAY your name. It's a pretty cool touch to hear Travis Pastrana say, "Hey Joel, nobody could touch you out there!"
I only have two gripes: One is that you still can't go very far afield when you wreck. If I really blow a corner, I would love to see my car roll over and over and over again. You only get that joy if your car happens to stay on or near the track. Unfortunately this is pretty standard fare for rally games.
My second gripe is that there is no split screen multiplayer. Once in a while it would be great to have a friend over and simply sit down and race each other. With this game he'll have to bring an xbox, a tv, and his own copy of the game and do system link, or stay at his own house and play over live. The live support is really great, so split screen will probably only be missed occasionally.
In summary, if you are looking for a real serious rally simulation, this isn't it. If you are looking for a very fun off road racing game with stunning visuals, great sound, good control, awesome tracks, nice cars, and edge of your seat action, this is it! I highly recommend it to the driving enthusiast.

+ Grip is very nice, really lets you hold the wheel with no slipping
+ Force Feedback, is really nice. when you hit the wall and start sliding it really pulls the wheel back the other way(like the ones at the arcade)
+ Button placement is nice(guide, ABXY, ext.).
+ Nice design, look, and feel.
+ Pedals have a nice feel, Stiff enough for you to easily hit the right pressure.
+ Built in Headset connection(plug your Headset right into the steering wheel).
',',',',',',',',',',',',',',','Other',',',',',',',',',',',',',',','
> Motor's for the Force Feedback could be stronger
> Cords there are 3 of them(pedals, USB, and power cord) kinda makes a cord hassle but its ok.
> No stick shifter, only the paddles on back side of the wheel which isn't all bad
',',',',',',',',',',',',',','Cons,',',',',',',',',',',',',','
- Brake and Gas pedal have same feel. I would of like the brake stiffer then the gas.
- Wireless, should have been, would have eliminated 1 cord.. but im not concerned...
Ok over all, this is a great wheel, Though i cant compare it to the MS wheel because i haven't used it...
I played the DiRT, Forza 2 demos, and Test Drive Unlimited.... TDU handled great with the wheel(Bikes not so easy though), Forza 2 took some getting used to but i got the hang of it. DiRT how ever.. was alot harder.. lol got the hang of it after awhile but much practice will be need to perfect it..
so here is my breakdown.
Handling = 9.0
Feel/Look/Design = 9.5
Force Feedback = 8.5
Features = 9.5
Overall 9.1!!!!
This is a Great wheel, if your looking for something that is under the price of the MS wireless wheel, this this is the one you want. Just remember to hit the Black button on the wheel to adjust the sensitivity.

SkiDoo Snowmobile Challenge Review

SkiDoo Snowmobile Challenge
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was a little hesitant to buy this game but I found it at retail for 5 bucks new so I gave it a shot. After playing for a while (and knowing very little about snowmobiles) I can tell this game is actually very well made.
The graphics aren't top notch, the soundtrack has generic rock, the sled upgrades are a little sparse and non-detailed, but the gameplay is spot on. Meaning, it's enjoyable to play despite it's flaws. It's a little sim-arcade meaning it plays like an arcade title but it has simulation elements. Not a lot of tricks but I don't think you can even do that many tricks on a snowmobile. The music is decent from some "undiscovered" artists.
Looking at the credits, it looks like 10 guys made this game front to back which is an accomplishment considering all the credits on most major titles only half of which are worth playing. Sure, it could've been an xbox live arcade title (it feels a little more complete than trials hd) but for a budget game everything that should be here is here.
I'd say it's worth 10-15 bucks (new or used); you'll play it a while.

Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway Review

Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been waiting a long time for Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway to come out. There have been numerous delays and the game was supposed to come out sometime last year. Well it finally came out and I picked up the game yesterday from my local Game Retailer.
The game follows up the first two Brothers in Arms games that came out earlier. You play the role of Sergeant Matt Baker who leads squads of men through Holland during Operation Market Garden in September 1944 during World War II. Operation Market Garden was the last German victory in Europe during the war.
I think the game has a great story line. The game in my opinion is very well done and acted out. It really shows what I think every soldier has to endure and go through during wartime. It is very emotional and gripping. You find out that soldiers have to make life or death decisions that can effect them the rest of their lives. This game shows not only soldiers struggling through this conflict, but also Dutch civilians who were caught in the crossfire between the Allies and the Germans.
If you are looking for a game where you make tactical decisions about how to fight battles during Operation Market Garden, this is it. Your decisions can decide the life's of your soldiers under your command.
The AI is very good in this game. I read some game reviews from other gaming websites where the game reviewers were complaining about German Soldiers who were just standing around when you shoot at them. First of all, you can now sneak up on German Soldiers to plan an attack without them knowing your there. In other words, you can set up an ambush. You set up you and your squads where you want them to fight the Germans. Of course the Germans are going to stand around if they don't know that you are there hiding. Second you can now set up you and your men where the Germans are caught in a cross fire when you fire at them with your weapons. The Germans get confused because there is no where to run and hide. So of course a lot of them are going to stand around because of the crossfire. That happens in real life too.
The graphics are real good in this game. I understand the developers of this game went to actual locations around Holland and took thousands of pictures to make the game looked like Holland during World War II. That is very impressive.
I think the game has a lot of replay value to it because the Germans react differently every time you play the game again. Each time you try to figure out how you will fight different battles throughout the game. I recommend buying this game especially if you like playing World War II games like me.October 5, 2008
UPDATE: I just finished playing Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway and I noticed a couple of things I wanted to update about this game. I'm a true gamer who likes to give honest opinions about the games I play. The above opinions were given when I was only half way through the game. Here are the updates.
1. The graphics are great at the beginning of the game and toward the middle, but not at the end. It seems like the game developer got into a big hurry to finish this game and just threw in graphics from the "Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood" game into the end of this game. The trees and buildings at the end of game just look dull and not very detailed like at the beginning and the middle of the game. The game was already a year behind schedule and I'm sure the game developer got pressured into finishing the game as soon as possible. I was wondering why I never saw any game trailers that show any missions that were at the end of this game. Now I know why.
2. None of the mission maps you play through are very big throughout the game. You play a little way through a mission and then you get a cut scene. That scenario plays over and over again throughout the game. Too many cut scenes and not enough playing time. If you want a comparison in map sizes, try playing Battlefield: Bad Company and you'll see what I'm talking about as far as map sizes go. Battlefield: Bad Company maps are a lot bigger with less cut scenes.
3. Operation Market Garden was all about the Allies taking and holding major road bridges along Hell's Highway throughout Holland during World War II before the Germans could blow up any of the bridges. Well in the game I didn't see one major bridge shown in any missions. There is one small bridge in the game that goes over a small canal but I don't count that. I'm talking about big huge bridges over major rivers. I didn't see any at all. I was really disappointed. Why were there no major road bridges shown in the game? That is what Operation Market Garden was all about.
4. There were lots of different vehicles used during Operation Market Garden by both the Allies and the Germans. In the game, I only saw one kind of Allied tank (Sherman Firefly) used in the game and one kind of German tank (Panzer IV) used. I didn't see any German Panther tanks, Tiger tanks, German Halftracks, German Volkswagen Kubelwagen, etc. I also didn't see any other American tanks or any British tanks of any kind. What is up with that?
5. Not every mission in this game has you play with squads of men. In fact in some of the missions, you fight alone against the Germans. And in some missions you don't fight at all. Running through a building that is on fire is one of them. There is no shooting at all. I thought in every mission I would control squads of men.
This game reminds me a lot of Medal of Honor: Airborne. That game could of been awesome too if it had of been done right. I remember that game went through a lot of delays just like Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway did and it came out about a year later than it was suppose to. Medal of Honor: Airborne was great the first few missions and then it went downhill the last couple of missions. This game is the same way. After playing the game, I'll have to change my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. Sorry. I just feel this game could of been made better.

Race Pro Review

Race Pro
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I LOVE this game. I love racing in general. I watch Formula 1, ALMS, LMS, SCCA Racing, WTCC, and Rallying. Forza Motorsport 2 provided me with my racing fix on 360 for a long time, but RACE Pro replaces it almost completely.
RACE Pro is about one thing: racing. Don't expect to be able to buy new wheels, turbos, or cams for your car. Don't expect to be able to apply custom paint jobs or sell cars in an auction house. Don't even expect to take place in online tournaments (unless they are organized by a fan community) or play split screen.
DO expect to have realistic physics (seriously). DO expect to have a BLAST racing online. DO expect to be punished for any mistake you make when you have all assists off.
Overall, this game replaces Forza in the "I want to race online against my friends" catagory (thankfully, I have a group of friends who also have the game - racing against them is obviously more enjoyable than racing strangers). Unfortunately, it does NOT replace Forza in the "polished game I can have fun with when I'm not online" catagory. In RACE Pro there are only two reasons why anyone would want to race the AI: To unlock achievements and to unlock cars. In Forza, you really don't want to race the AI either... but at least you can have a slightly less-boring time doing it (you can rank up in career mode, and the types of races are much more diverse and interesting). But to me, there is no denying that the physics and actual racing are better in RACE Pro. For example, you can rub without spinning instantly (like in Forza) but if you hit someone on the wrong way, you both will end up in the wall - the way it should be. The tire model is fantastic, and the way the game treats braking without ABS is 100 times better than Forza's system. These are just small examples - you really need to experience this game (WITH A WHEEL!!!) for yourself to appreciate it.
The Good:
-Awesome physics
-Racing is great
-Microsoft Wheel is implemented beautifully (almost - see cons) - you don't have to struggle to be fast with it like in Forza
-Interior/Cockpit view
-Diverse range of race cars
-Sound effects are awesome
-Flag Rules! Both offline AND online!
-Qualifying rounds! Again, both offline and online.
-Cool lobby system. It's like NASCAR 09: you join a room and enter a pre-race practice mode where you can drive the track, adjust your setup back in the garage, and then head back out to check how your changes affect your lap time. The host can choose when to end the practice session and move on to qualifying (or skip to the race if he has qualifying off).
-My favorite console racing game I've ever played
The Bad:
-So far, the online service is kind of lame. Sometimes you randomly lose connection to the host and you are booted back to the main menu. Adding to the frustration, if the host goes off the track and gets frustrated, they sometimes just quit - closing the entire game for everyone else. Hopefully a patch can fix at least the game drops.
-Force feedback is very weak with the wheel. This doesn't seem to be a constant problem for everyone - some people report that their feedback is fine, and others, like me, feel amost nothing. Some people don't have any feedback. This seems to me like a bug in the way the wheel and the game see each other, but who knows. If you have a modified MS Wheel where you can adjust the FF level right there on the wheel, then you should be fine - but for the rest of us, you can adjust pretty much every parameter of the racing wheel in game EXCEPT for force feedback (so we're SOL).
-Graphics are pretty meh. I wouldn't say the game looks worse than Forza but it doesn't look better (except for Cockpit View! That makes everything look amazing - seriously).
That's it! If you are expect GRID, don't buy this. If you are looking for a sim, buy this.

Project Gotham Racing 3 Review

Project Gotham Racing 3
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you're a racing fan, this is a must-have game for your XBox 360. If you're just looking to see how good the graphics are on the XBox 360, at lesat rent this game. It's quite impressive!!
You choose from a number of real cars. There are Ferraris, Jaguars, Aston Martins, Lamborghinis, McLarens and much more. The cars look AMAZINGLY good with full detail, and you can choose the color as well.
You race your car through a number of circuits around some quite recognizeable towns. You end up in London, Las Vegas, New York City, Tokyo and Nurburgring. Each location is full of detail. When you drive down the river Thames in London you pass Big Ben. Vegas has gorgeous hotels that I remember from my visits there.
Doing fun stunts earns you Kudos points, so not only are you aiming to win your races to earn cash, but you also want to rack up Kudos points. That makes even the easier races fun, as you do spins, slides and much more.
The world you're in is quite interactive. The people watching the race take flash pictures as you drive past - but if you crash into a fence near them, they all cringe. There are clouds floating by overhead. Mostly, though, there are other racers on the track trying to get by you and steal the lead.
We found the controls to be very intuitive, and the cars handled quite nicely. Note that this is a GAME racing system - i.e. it's not pure realistic. If you smash into a wall at 100mph, your car does not explode into a thousand shards of metal. You simply spin off gently and keep going. That being said, most gamers really don't want a "realistic" racing game. They want a fun one, and this game delivers across the board.
I have to admit that for me, half the fun in this game is the gorgeous landscapes. In Vegas, you drive past the Excalibur and Treasure Island, and the details are picture-perfect. New York, New York is by the track in quite amazing clarity.
I also love the sound in this game - because the soundtrack options are simply awesome. You can choose from a number of soundtracks, from classical to alternative to J-Pop and more. You can even stream in music from your iPod or other MP3 player!
I suppose if you hate racing games, you probably will find this game to be boring. You're just racing cars around in circles with pretty scenery and great sound. But you'd have to be in the minority to not enjoy this game. The cars are amazing. The graphics are amazing. The sound is amazing. Because of the multiplayer options, including up to 8 simultanous live players online, you could play this game for eternity and still find people to challenge you.
If you want even MORE of a challenge, you can even create your own custom route through their maps! You can design your very own custom lap system and challenge others to play on it. Talk about variety!
Highly, highly recommended!

Import Tuner Challenge Review

Import Tuner Challenge
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
To feed my Forza Motorsport 2 hunger, I decided to purchase this game. I'm a big fan of Japanese cars. All my cars are Japanese. Import Tuner focuses on...you guessed it...import cars, mainly Japanese brand cars- Toyota, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Mazda, and Nissan. People ask..so where's Honda? Licensing issues prevented Genki developers from including Honda.
This game delivers TONS of customizations. You can basically calibrate and modify your car based on parts you buy. However, buying upgrade parts for your car isn't that easy. All upgrade parts are level-based meaning you need to beat a boss or win races against a few rival teams to get a new level of parts to purchase. Parts don't come cheap so just racing one rival after another won't get you the goods you need once you face a fully-modified car. You'll have to go back and find a rival team you already beat and race him over and over until you get enough credit points to purchase the parts.
The game requires a lot of patience since you'll be pitted against every import car. There are two ways of challenging rivals. You either hit the streets and challenge OR you can go to the parking area and challenge racers there. To beat the game, you'll have to challenge both street racers and those who hangout by the parking lot.
The tracks are based on real highways in Japan. All the the highways have been faithfully recreated in this game. Now...since this is a race along freeway, you won't be using much of your drifting skills here since you won't find any hairpin turns. Most of the turns are like the Exit ramps you take on our Interstate highways here in the US. This should give you an idea on what's in store for you. Majority of the tracks here are straightways, a few exit ramps turns will test your turning skills. Don't be fooled though. You'll be faced with traffic on the highways. There will trucks and cars driving merrily along the highway while you're speeding at 200mph. The traffic will sharpen your skills on avoidance and overtaking. The game is quite tough on errors you make. You hit a car or a railing and chances are the rival driver will be right on your tail.
There are two modes of races here: SP battles and Time Attack. SP battles are like health meters. The farther the rival is ahead of you, the faster your health meter goes down. You hit a railing or a car and that penalizes your SP meter. The object of SP battle is to run your rival's SP meter dry. That means you'll have to outrace him or punish him by trapping him on a lane where a slow moving vehicle is right in front of him and then you accelerate at high speed to leave him behind. You can use traffic to your advantage by nudging the rival car on the side and pushing him towards an embankment. I know it's bad but hey...you gotta win by any means necessary. Time attack on the other hand is simply a race to the finish line. Why it's called Time attack just boggles the mind. This game was made in Japan so expect some translation hiccups here and there. Poorly translated Japanese terms abound in this game so expect to see weird rival names like Betelguese of the Night, Mundane Omnipotent, Cornering Opera, Mundane Zeus, Astellion Flower, and my favorite... Cat X Cat.
Graphics was where I was a bit disappointed. Genki didn't use the full power of the Xbox360. Somehow it didn't look quite next-gen to me. Also, there are horrible frame rate issues. The game just grinds to a stuttering frame rate when you have three or four rivals on screen. There are a few drawing issues as well. Sometimes, while driving, you'll notice that there's just a black empty space at the end of the ramp. Fear not, the game suffers from redrawing issues. But these issues shouldn't deter you from playing this game. AI is something that's a so-so. You will find rivals who drive like Ms. Daisy or sometimes against a rival who drives like Mario Andretti, Nicki Lauda, and Colin McRae. Most of the AI seem to be afraid to take the risk of making sharp turns at full speed. They seem to brake quite a few meters too far from the turn's entry point. As a result, you can easily take advantage of this and cut in front of them.
So...what's a good gaming tip here. Like any other tuner games, there are three things you need to focus on to win in this game: SPEED, WEIGHT, AND HANDLING. That means you need to upgrade your engine, your body, and your suspension. Don't dwell too much on making your car look like Fast and Furiousque. Concentrate first on winning a few races and invest on the three main aspects of the car. ANy part that will make your car 100lbs heavier should be compensated by a body upgrade that will make it lighter. I've beaten this game by using just one car.
Here's what I did: I purchased the Nissan Fairlady (fastest among the cheapest starter cars). I raced the hell out of it and upgraded it. Then I began challenging several rivals over and over again till I was winning 500K credit points per race. Once I got to about 4 million credit points, I bought my favorite and possibly the fastest tuner car in the game: Mitsubishi Evolution IX. I then sold my Fairlady and then upgraded the engine to the highest possible level I could get. Slowly I began upgrading the three main aspects of the car. By the time I got to about 80% of game completion, I was beating every car and rival I was up against. The Mitsubishi Evolution is by far the best tuner car I have ever dealt with, be it Forza Motorsport or Import Tuner. Try the Evolution and win every race.
In closing, this game is highly recommended. It has it's own technical issues but the fun factor is definitely in the game. Go for it.

Crash Time Review

Crash Time
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
1. Can be enjoyed equally well using either the controller or the Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel with the gas and brake pedals. Both will give you a different experience. Using the wheel while sitting in a chair is just like driving a car while using the controller may alloy for a little more precision driving around corners. Both will provide a unique experience and double the value of your racing/diving games.
2. THE AUTOREVERSE IS UNIQUE IN THIS GAME COMPARED TO OTHER RACING GAMES. THE MANUAL DOESN'T TELL YOU HOW TO AUTOREVERSE CORRECTLY, BUT I'LL TELL YOU. After coming to a completes stop with your left trigger pulled, release the left trigger, and then re-pull the left trigger to go into reverse. Then pull the right trigger when you need to go forward again. You can also manually shift gears or go into reverse even with the car in automatic.
3. The autoreverse works only when you are flush against a solid object and can't move an inch to the right or left. If doesn't seem to matter if you have autoreverse enabled or disabled, it seems to work the same way.
4. You can disable the replay feature it desired.
5. When racing thru traffic, drive in the first person (hood or bumper view). It' much easier to race through traffic with a lot less damage than the 3rd-person view. The trailing views aren't nealy as fun either.
6. When you need to smash the targeted car and then pull up beside it or to give it 100% damage, it's advantageous to switch to the 3rd person (trailing view) but not essential.
7. Switch the view points using the up on the directional pad.
8. This game is really challanging and hard even on "easy". Just like Turok there is nothing easy when you play it on "easy". This is much more fun than shooters. You get to drive thru the city, dirt roads, and the Autobaun at 100 to 160mph completing all the challenges and missions.
9. I don't think any sane person can beat the game Hard without spending 1,000,000 hours of game play. So don't even try. Go into the options menu and change it to "easy". On hard the damage to your car is a 10% limit. On Normal it's 20%. On "Easy" its 30%. The damage quota isn't there for some of the missions.
10. You can change the KPH to MPH in the options menu.
11. After the first case is beaten, 5 race tracks and 5 vehicles will be unlocked. With each case you beat you will unlock more and more. The racing events are fun. You get to do point to point races and circuit races using all kinds of different vehicles and tracks thru the Autobaun, city and country roads.
12. You can play the game with the cases, and you can do the racing events (after the first case is beaten).
13. THIS GAME CAN BE REALLY FRUSTRATING AT TIMES. YOU MIGHT NEED TO REPEAT SOME OF THE MISSIONS SEVERAL TIMES FOR HOURS TO BEAT SOME OF THEM. ALSO, AFTER YOU BEAT THE FIRST COUPLE OF CASES, ON SOME MISSIONS, THE OBJECTIVES WILL FLASH BY IN JUST ONE OR TWO SECONDS. YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD IDEA OF WHAT TO DO BASED ON PREVIOUS MISSIONS YOU BEAT ESPECIALLY FROM THE FIRST CASE. BUT, EVERYTIME YOU FAIL A MISSION, THERE IS A CHECKLIST OF MISSION OBJECTIVES LISTING THE OBJECTIVES YOU WERE SUCCESSFUL AT (GREEN CHECKMARK) AND THOSE OBJECTIVES YOU FAILED (RED CHECKMARK).
Each case has many missions to it, about 5 or 6 average.
Each and every mission has a new challenges with new variables as you go thru the game. There is a new and different challenge to be done. You'll have different vehicle and even a tank. A few of challenges are the similar to previous ones, but each is unique with unique variable, e.g, traffic for one. You are traveling thru the Autobaun and country roads and city streets with a new and unique challenge with each case and mission.
Once you get passed the first case, the challenges become more unique and fun. Just when you thought you've experienced it all there's a new more challenging mission.
This is totally unique from any other driving game. This makes a great addition to all the other racing/driving games that I own, e.g., Dirt 2, Grid, Need For Speed: Pro Street/Undercover/Shift, Flatout Ultimate Carnage, Burnout Paradise.
This is a keeper. I love this game. This can also be one of the tougher/toughest games to beat all the way through even on "easy".
I've beaten this game twice. I know it well. I can assist with any questions.
There's also a sequal called Autobaun Polezi which is great also. There are the case missions, plus missions you get on patrol along with a GPS indicator as well as a map in the pause menu to see where your target is.
There's a CrashTime III which has been release in Europe, but not yet in the USA.
