I bought this controller cover for my grandson and he loves it. Easy to install and looks "cool" he tells me. A little pricey for what it is but good buy for me.

MADCATZ, INC. Mass Effect Faceplate & Console Skinz for Xbox 360 Review

MADCATZ, INC. Mass Effect Faceplate and Console Skinz for Xbox 360
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Faceplates have come a long way for the 360's. This new mass effect faceplate looks great and is good quality. Personally, I loved the game and to me this was a perfect tribute to one of the best titles (if not the best) for the Xbox 360. I love the Xbox, but I don't like the light colored appearance of the console. Using the faceplate and skinz is a quick, easy way to upgrade the look of your console. The art is fantastic and the colors are rich and detailed. Good quality stickers for the sides can be installed easily. They don't rip and you can stick and remove for the perfect fit without losing the adhesiveness. This is a great product for lovers of Mass Effect.

Official Street Fighter IV Cloth Wall Scroll - Group Review

Official Street Fighter IV Cloth Wall Scroll - Group
Average Reviews:

The art in this wall scroll is great, though a bit blurry when it is viewed up close. The only thing is if you live somewhere where there is a lot of moisture in the air, then the scroll will start to curl in at the sides. It would be better if the scroll were actual cloth, not some vinyl-like material.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Throat Communicator for Xbox 360 Review

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Throat Communicator for Xbox 360
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was looking for something different. The OEM Xbox 360 headset would always become uncomfortable after an hour or so
of use for me. The foam/sponge "ear-speaker cover" would bother my ear and the hard plastic opposite end would dig into the other side of my head.
I had been looking all over (including in Japan) for a cool headset. I didn't want one that also played the sound from the game (ie. stereo or 5.1 audio),
I have an audio system for that, I just wanted a better communicator headset for talking with friends.
I saw this on a "popular game review site" and immediately went and got one.
I opened it. It felt like quality plastic and rubber. It had a durable feel to it. I was excited. Heck, I could even drink and not have to move the mic.
Perfect, right?
It fit a little tight around my lower neck, but I could deal with that. The ear pod was a little big and was deeper than say a traditional iPod ear bud.
It wasn't super comfy personally, but again, I could deal with it.
Problem #1
I plug it into the controller. The plug didn't fit super tight and it did that static thingy in my ear which made it seem like the connection wasn't all there.
it felt 3rd party-ish if you know what I mean. I was expecting it to kinda plug and lock in there, but it felt too loose for my liking.
Problem #2
So I connect with some friends. They say I sounded bad, too much static, so I looked closely and noticed that it came with the mute switch turned "on" (default setting? really?).
But if the mute was on, why could they hear me?
So I switched the mute to "off".
My friends said I sounded fine with the throat mic. I was actually surprised they said they couldn't tell the difference between my voice
with the Mad Catz product and the OEM Xbox headset.
Problem #3
My friends sounded drunk/inebriated. Their voices sounded horrible. I switched over to the OEM Xbox headset and they sounded fine. The ear piece had
horrible audio. It sounded like cheap equipment.
So basically the only good things are I can drink with it on and I sound OK, but the other issues were too much for me.
I can't express enough how bummed I am that this product isn't that good.
Oh well, I will repackage it up and return it.
The search continues.

Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Adapter Review

Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Adapter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Okay, I don't write many reviews unless the item makes a huge impact in the quality of life, and this one did.
1. This adapter is multi-functional and everyone should have at least one of these in their home.
a. This adapter will hook up to your PS3, and Xbox 360 with ease and run flawlessly
b. This item can also be used on various other devices such as your Direct T.V. box and your internet ready T.V. if your T.V didn't come with a wireless interface. For example, my Mitsubishi 73738 didn't come with a wireless card built in, so I connected one of my Madcatz adapter to its Ethernet port to obtain internet for the T.V. Likewise, you can use this device to give your Direct T.V. box access to the internet without using a hard line. I am using an HR-22 box from Direct T.V. just so you know.
Hook up is not that hard, I bypassed the CD entirely and hooked it up manually. However, this can be a pain for anyone who has not hooked up a device like this manually before. I will leave the procedure below to help you set yours.
1. Whatever computer you plan to configure this device with, disconnect it from the internet, UNLESS its hooked up wirelessly, then you can leave it connected.
2. go into your configuration for your ethernet port on your computer and change the IP address to 10.10.10.4 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0
3. After you do that, connect the Madcatz adapter to your Ethernet port. Next, open a browser and type in 10.10.10.254 and hit enter. You should now be looking at the login screen for your Madcatz adapter. Both the username and password is admin.
4. Once your logged into the adapter, select the folder that says, Site Survey.
5. Click the radio button next to your router or the router you want this device to use for the internet, then select Add Profile.
6. A window will pop up. Add in the same encryption that is on your router here along with the phrase or keyword used to access this router. When you are done here, click apply and your done. Dont forget to set your computers IP address back to "Obtain IP by DHCP" or whatever it was set to prior to configuring this Mad Catz Adapter. Incidentally, I am currently on the internet using the mad catz adapter on my laptop.Side notes, and summary;
1. You must changed your computers LAN (Local Area Connection) IP address (not your Wireless Network Connection) to 10.10.10.4; subnet 255.255.255.0 - do not skip this step
2. Hook up Madcatz to your Ethernet Port, bring up a browser, type 10.10.10.254, and login using username; admin, password admin
3. Access and configure ONLY the Site Survey folder, don't open any other folder, YOU DON'T NEED THEM!. If you do, and you dont know what your doing, consider yourself screwed.
4. Select your router in the list of routers you see and hit Add Profile. 9 times out of 10, this area will already be configured with the encryption of your router. The only thing you normally have to update is the encryption phrase or passkey. Your adapter will normally pull all the information it needs to configure itself, however it will need you to enter whatever the passkey or phrase is.
5. Click apply, close the browser, disconnect the router from your computer and hook it up to your Xbox to test.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO UNDERSTAND
1. Be aware that your router maybe older and if you haven't updated the firmware in awhile, now maybe a good time. This is a newer device.
2. If this device disconnects from the network periodically, it may have lost its DHCP address and needs a new one. I suggest telling your router to lease the address to the MadCatz Adapter indefinitely, so there is no overlap and conflicting addresses.
3. I strongly suggest using the Web based application only to set up this device. Contrary to earlier post by others, you DO NOT need the CD to set this device up through Web based.
4. Finally, if you set this device up correctly, its extremely fast. Its faster than my D-Link USB Wireless N. Testing this device against a USB D-LINK wireless N was no contest. The madcatz adapter hooked up to my laptop performed faster, downloading page request from the internet quickly. As noted earlier, this device can be used to provide wireless to a range of devices to include, desktop computers, laptops, Xbox360, internet ready T.V's, PS3, DIRECTV and so on (I've tested this device on most of these).
Good luck!

Xbox 360 AMPX Amplified Gaming Headset Review

Xbox 360 AMPX Amplified Gaming Headset
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The quality of this headset is not what I expected. First of all, when the mute/volume control box isn't positioned just right, there is an annoying buzzing sound. This wasn't a huge deal since I have read other reviews for headsets, and it seems to be a pretty common problem in some of them. The biggest deal is that the mic tends to cut in and out when I'm talking to someone. It doesn't do it all the time, but it does it enough to aggravate me and the people trying to talk to me. My guess is that before long, this headset will just stop working. On a brighter note, when the mic isn't malfunctioning, the sound is really clear.
Oh, and I bought two of these. The buzzing problem is in both of them, but only one of them seems to have the mic function issue so far.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Combat Controller for Xbox 360 - Snow
Average Reviews:

I was really excited to get this controller, I love the idea of the buttons on the back. Unfortunately, within about two minutes I realized it was poorly designed. The buttons on the back are situated way too high on the controller, they can't be reached easily (Defeating their entire purpose). And the joysticks and D-Pad are all much stiffer than a normal Xbox controller, which doesn't seem like a big problem, but after about 20 minutes my thumbs started to hurt. Very disappointed, I returned it the next day.

There's not too much to say on this other than the faceplate is very sharp-looking, fits official Xbox 360 controllers securely, and looks great in the process. When putting it on the remote, it will snap on (I heard about 4 clicks from when it was snapping on to the contour of the remote). Perfect for Detroit Lions fans or people who just want a change of pace for their remote. My only gripe is not about the product, but that it is much cheaper on Newegg.

Rock Band 3 Wireless Pro-Drum and Pro-Cymbals Kit Review

Rock Band 3 Wireless Pro-Drum and Pro-Cymbals Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I absolutely LOVE this drum set! It was an upgrade from the Guitar Hero World Tour drum set. It was very well packaged which is expected. The instructions to put this thing together weren't necessarily "idiot proof" but I did eventually get it set up how I wanted it in about 30 minutes. You can adjust the height of the individual cymbals and the drum set as a whole however you like.
This drum set is very sturdy. I like to POUND the drums and this set can take it well. The packaged drum sticks are thicker than the Guitar Hero ones. Its a good thing, but they create a little more noise and I live in an apartment. So I may invest in some Rock Band drum silencers.
Also, I noticed a lot of people complain about the yellow cymbal slowly lowering after a certain amount of hits. I won't sit here and they put it together wrong, but I have never had any problems with my cymbals. As stated before, I hit the drums a little harder than the average person and my cymbals are in the same place I installed them.
Another good thing is that this drum set does not take up a WHOLE LOT OF SPACE! For it to have 4 pads and 3 cymbals you would think otherwise.
One main thing I wondered before buying this drum set was if it was compatible with any games besides Rock Band. I own a few Guitar Hero games myself. But this set does work with all of my Guitar Hero games that have drum capabilities. (GHWT, GH5) They even changed the highway to 4 notes because I don't have the fifth one like the Guitar Hero drums. I assume it will work with all the other GH games. I guess it should if it costs that much.
In Rock Band 3 it is supposed to have a pro feature where the cymbals and bass pads will have their own notes. I'm really looking forward to that and it actually played a big role in swaying my mind to buy it.
I think this drum set is very attractive. A BIG step from the Guitar Hero one, and every time I look at this drum set it makes me want to pop in the game and get my Travis Barker on. So definitely worth the money but ONLY if you like to drum.
I hope I answered any questions in the review. If not, comment and let me know.

Xbox 360 Rock Band M.I.C. (Microphone with Integrated Controller) Review

Xbox 360 Rock Band M.I.C. (Microphone with Integrated Controller)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been waiting for something like this to come out since the day we got Rock Band. When I saw it at Frys, I bought it immediately.
Talk about disappointment. Right out of the box I knew I was in for a let down.
There are MANY things wrong with this MIC, but as its primary function is a MICROPHONE, failing in this catagory is most damning. And boy does it fail. We're not *amazing* singers but we can easily get flawless on expert in a few of the songs we know well. But when we sing with this mic, the arrow never stops bouncing around. No amount of adjustment to the mic sensitivity or volume, or (even removing the bezel/foam) seems to make a difference. It is simply less accurate.
As for the mic physically, I'll be brief. It looks and feels much less "real" than the official Rockband Mic. The grill bezel is plastic, the d-pad is unresponsive, the buttons layout is uninspired -- Mad Catz made a Rock Band mic, why not remove the unnecessary buttons, add a proper R1 and make the D-pad actually usable -- the cord is too short, and overall it feels cheap, despite the "velvet" texture.
But again, all that is moot since the actual microphone lacks any accuracy whatsoever. A true shame, because otherwise it would almost be worth it. Do not buy.
The good:
Having buttons on the Mic, obviously.
The Bad:
Microphone sensor is absolutely unplayable
D-pad is frustrating at best, useless at worst
Button layout is uninspired
Cord is too short
Looks and feels more plastic than the official RockBand Mic

Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 - Call of Duty: Black Ops Dolby True 5.1 Gaming Headset - Powered by TRITTON Review

Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 - Call of Duty: Black Ops Dolby True 5.1 Gaming Headset - Powered by TRITTON
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Tritton set the bar extremely high with this headset. Individual channel controls, braided wiring, highly durable build, crystal clear sound, and a carry case to boot. I originally owned a set of AX 720's, and they are still great, I use those for my computer, and music. You could say, that I could have saved some dough by getting the original AX pro headset, which, after reading some reviews, I shyed away from them due to the display on Amazon showing 2, count em 2 AC adapters. Being in Iraq...I don't have that kind of convenience. So I went for the Black Ops pair, and I am impressed.
Design:
These are very well built, I opened the solid box to reveal the case with the headset inside, which feels as rugged as a Case Logic. Open that up, and there is the headset, just like in the picture you see here. The foam inside is laser cut, and rests everything snug and sturdy, hats off to Tritton, Treyarch, and Activision for giving the AX pro's the much needed update, and cutting it down to one AC adapter. The paint job is pretty sleek, but obviously, if you are no fan of Black Ops, you won't like it.
Accessories:
What an upgrade! My old AX 720's sported a cheap, fiber optic cable that felt brittle and cheap, the wire from the headset was a standard rubber/plastic type. Well, the fiber optic cable is sturdy, it is weaved, it looks like another brand was packed in, the connectors are also to be praised. The in line controller is solid, and does not feel cheaply attached. Also a puck attachment for the Xbox controller is a nice touch as well. The brains of the operation, controls the rest of the setup. Too much detail to go into here, but I tell you, its the next best thing to having a receiver.
Set up:
A royal pain [...] if you have no patience, but, with a little thought, and checking around online, setup is pretty simple. Adjusting settings based on the game you are playing, well, thats tedious too, as there is no option to save settings per game, so it may be a good idea to write down what your settings are, as most games are different.
Edit: Comfort:
All I can say is that even wearing these long term, they are incredibly comfortable, you wouldn't think they may be considering the size, but many times have I been up watching a movie with these, or even the AX 720's, where the weight difference was negligible. I never had ear, or neck discomfort, neither did I feel any pressure on my head during use. These feel great! I prefer the felt pads, but the faux leather comes on the device already, I switched them up as soon as I got them home. I didnt use the faux leather, but, I imagine the felt breathes better. Word of advice, if you choose to switch the pads, the instructions inside the manual are tough to see. So, place the headset in your lap with the corded part of the earpiece in your lap, put two thumbs on the plastic next to the headpad, push up. I nearly tore off the leather headpad trying to switch it. If you need to see it done, there are youtube videos as well.
Sound Quality:
Simply amazing. I (naturally) played Black Ops first. Once I made it through the setup, I was off. I could hear every footstep, direction of gunfire, everything. Online, Ninja Pro couldn't even save the quietest player.
I moved on to Dead Space, took my time and set it up right. My only complaint in playing this game was, oddly, Isaac Clarke's onscreen positioning in the game. His melee motions would start in my right ear, and as he swung, his vocal grunt would not cross the center channel, but cut out completely, and finish in my left ear. Minor complaing that I barely noticed as the tension heated up. I could hear every monster, every noise, every voice, every movement.
Music, well, I couldnt find the correct adjustments for them, I say, dont bother.
Movies, hell yeah!
Final thoughts, If you got the cheese, get em, but, for a cheaper alternative, the AX Pro's, or the AX 720's are just as good of an alternative.
