Xbox Controller (Original Design) Review

Xbox Controller (Original Design)

I love these original controllers although some people do not like them because the controller is large.
I have large hands so this controller rocks.
Ordered a used one and it works perfectly.

Originally the normal Xbox controller for all territories except Japan, this has since been quietly discontinued and replaced in Xbox packs by the Controller S. The black and white buttons are located above the ABXY buttons, and the Back/Start buttons are located between and below the d-pad and right thumbstick. Also, the standard face buttons (ABXY) were oriented in an oblong parallelogram.

Battle Fantasia Review

Battle Fantasia
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I loved Battle Fantasia. I'm an old school fighting game fan and I've been playing since the first arcade iteration of SFII. I'm a huge fan of unique characters and artwork and this game has them in spades. Not to mention pretty complex gameplay mechanics if you take the time to get into it. What's so great about Battle Fantasia is even a novice can play and win with great results.... and a more advanced player can really delve into the deeper mechanics. The storylines were pretty interesting and quirky as well.
At a less than $20 price point now is the time to pick up the title if you haven't already.

Stealth 4 Mode Rapid Fire Wireless Controller for Xbox 360 By Mods That Last Review

Stealth 4 Mode Rapid Fire Wireless Controller for Xbox 360 By Mods That Last
Average Reviews:

This product was well worth the money. The controller looks just like any other (no special buttons or extra garbage to futz with). It comes with 8 modes that generally affect the right trigger, but I think 1 or 2 modes affect both. It is very simple to use. Press the sync button and the 4th led will flash to tell you what mode you're on. You can quickly disable/standby the rapid fire mode by pressing the left trigger and then the sync button. Plus, the company offers a lifetime warranty on their products. I haven't played CoD5 online, so I cannot comment on what others are saying, but it has been a great controller for me so far!

This is a brand new, white, wireless controller that has been modified with dual rapid fire with 3 modes and LED indicators. The two new buttons turn rapid fire on/off for the RT and LT (AKA the normal triggers become rapid fire). For example, press the new right button once, and rapid fire turns on the right trigger. Press and hold the right button for 3 seconds, and mode 2 will be activated (indicated by the LEDs blinking 2 times). Press and hold for 3 more seconds and mode 3 will be activated (indicated by the LEDs blinking 3 times). Do it again to return to mode 1. We only use the highest quality parts, brand new controllers, and the most advanced coding on the microchip. Our controllers come with a 30 day warranty on the modification. If anything ever goes wrong out of warranty, just pay for shipping and we will repair it for free. However, we have made hundreds of these controllers and have never had to repair a single one. Be careful when ordering from elsewhere, not all chips and mods are created equal. Many modifiers use cheap chips and parts that do not last more than a few months, whereas ours will last for years and years. Don't waste your money on the cheaper versions of this mod that will not last. Remember, no one else offers the same warranty and free repair service. To summarize: Coolest modification available, highest quality parts, advanced chip coding, long lasting, free service and repair, great customer service, fast shipping, and above all: true customer satisfaction. NOTE: This item is created by Mods That Last. Do not trust other sellers of this product on this page. We set up this page and are pro merchants, they are just piggybacking. We only use the highest quality parts, offer the best customer service, as well as free repairs on the mod for life.

TRON: Evolution Review

TRON: Evolution
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As the title suggests, this game will most likely sell thanks to its namesake and all the fond memories that go along with it. Is that a bad thing, not really but is the trip down memory lane worth the cost of the full price of admission or should you wait and purchase your ticket when the prices come down? The answer is, it's best to wait honestly besides the history there's no real reason to pick this title up for full price.
If you're a big fan of the series (which I am and the main reason I picked it up) or have someone on your holiday shopping list that is then take the chance. The nostalgia alone may make for an enjoyable gaming experience. However anyone with no exposure to the franchise and/or grew up with the belief that videogames started with the PS3/Xbox 360 then you should probably stay away. Honestly there is nothing new or mind blowing here, just a game that's better suited for the PS2.
The cons:
1. The camera is horrible at best; it would have been so much better if it was fixed. The majority of the time you're fighting with the camera at the same time you're fighting with the enemies on the screen which doesn't make for a fun experience.
2. Speaking of the enemies, most of them are very easy and the few who aren't don't really take too long to figure out before you're able to make it through them.
3. The controls are very sensitive, push on the stick that controls the camera a little too hard and you could find yourself suffering from vertigo.
4. The environments are interesting at first but get stale quickly, visually nothing stunning or breathtaking, let's just say you won't find any of the scenery on the back of a postcard anytime soon.
5. The character designs seems as if they would be more at home on a last gen system, nothing really next gen here either.
6. Multiplayer is fun, but again will get old really quick. After a couple of matches I felt as if I experienced all there was to experience and didn't really feel compelled to go back to the grid (multiplayer).
The pros:
1. The history.
2. For being a game based on an 80's sci-fi movie the story isn't too bad, actually pretty entertaining.
3. The music.
4. Um.........I guess that's really all the pros.
Overall if you're a fan of Tron pick it up when it goes down in price by at least half, if you're not a fan wait until someone gives it to you as a gift.

Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Adapter Review

Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Adapter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Okay, I don't write many reviews unless the item makes a huge impact in the quality of life, and this one did.
1. This adapter is multi-functional and everyone should have at least one of these in their home.
a. This adapter will hook up to your PS3, and Xbox 360 with ease and run flawlessly
b. This item can also be used on various other devices such as your Direct T.V. box and your internet ready T.V. if your T.V didn't come with a wireless interface. For example, my Mitsubishi 73738 didn't come with a wireless card built in, so I connected one of my Madcatz adapter to its Ethernet port to obtain internet for the T.V. Likewise, you can use this device to give your Direct T.V. box access to the internet without using a hard line. I am using an HR-22 box from Direct T.V. just so you know.
Hook up is not that hard, I bypassed the CD entirely and hooked it up manually. However, this can be a pain for anyone who has not hooked up a device like this manually before. I will leave the procedure below to help you set yours.
1. Whatever computer you plan to configure this device with, disconnect it from the internet, UNLESS its hooked up wirelessly, then you can leave it connected.
2. go into your configuration for your ethernet port on your computer and change the IP address to 10.10.10.4 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0
3. After you do that, connect the Madcatz adapter to your Ethernet port. Next, open a browser and type in 10.10.10.254 and hit enter. You should now be looking at the login screen for your Madcatz adapter. Both the username and password is admin.
4. Once your logged into the adapter, select the folder that says, Site Survey.
5. Click the radio button next to your router or the router you want this device to use for the internet, then select Add Profile.
6. A window will pop up. Add in the same encryption that is on your router here along with the phrase or keyword used to access this router. When you are done here, click apply and your done. Dont forget to set your computers IP address back to "Obtain IP by DHCP" or whatever it was set to prior to configuring this Mad Catz Adapter. Incidentally, I am currently on the internet using the mad catz adapter on my laptop.Side notes, and summary;
1. You must changed your computers LAN (Local Area Connection) IP address (not your Wireless Network Connection) to 10.10.10.4; subnet 255.255.255.0 - do not skip this step
2. Hook up Madcatz to your Ethernet Port, bring up a browser, type 10.10.10.254, and login using username; admin, password admin
3. Access and configure ONLY the Site Survey folder, don't open any other folder, YOU DON'T NEED THEM!. If you do, and you dont know what your doing, consider yourself screwed.
4. Select your router in the list of routers you see and hit Add Profile. 9 times out of 10, this area will already be configured with the encryption of your router. The only thing you normally have to update is the encryption phrase or passkey. Your adapter will normally pull all the information it needs to configure itself, however it will need you to enter whatever the passkey or phrase is.
5. Click apply, close the browser, disconnect the router from your computer and hook it up to your Xbox to test.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO UNDERSTAND
1. Be aware that your router maybe older and if you haven't updated the firmware in awhile, now maybe a good time. This is a newer device.
2. If this device disconnects from the network periodically, it may have lost its DHCP address and needs a new one. I suggest telling your router to lease the address to the MadCatz Adapter indefinitely, so there is no overlap and conflicting addresses.
3. I strongly suggest using the Web based application only to set up this device. Contrary to earlier post by others, you DO NOT need the CD to set this device up through Web based.
4. Finally, if you set this device up correctly, its extremely fast. Its faster than my D-Link USB Wireless N. Testing this device against a USB D-LINK wireless N was no contest. The madcatz adapter hooked up to my laptop performed faster, downloading page request from the internet quickly. As noted earlier, this device can be used to provide wireless to a range of devices to include, desktop computers, laptops, Xbox360, internet ready T.V's, PS3, DIRECTV and so on (I've tested this device on most of these).
Good luck!

Hour of Victory Review

Hour of Victory
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought Hour of Victory today and I played through part of the first mission and so far I like the game up to a certain point. I noticed right away the game has some good points and it has some bad points.
First with the good points. The graphics are really good and the enemy soldiers acts just the way you would expect them to. They run and hide for cover whenever they can. It is not real easy to get past the enemy soldiers. The A.I. is not too bad. At the beginning of the game there are three different soldiers with different skills you can choose to play throughout the game. You can hit the enemy head on with one soldier who is expert at running and gunning. Or if you want you can choose another soldier who is a expert with a sniper rifle to climb up on a rope to a building roof top to shoot down below at the enemy. Or you can choose another soldier who is an expert at sneaking up on the enemy to cut through barb wire and pick the locks to open doors to buildings. Each soldier has special skills that is unique to that particular soldier. You decide before the beginning of each mission what soldier you want to be in the game. I also like the background music in the game. It really adds to the atmosphere.
Now for the bad points. The game is not perfect. The game developers need to come out with some patches to fix Hour of Victory not to be just a good game, but to be a great game. I hate how game developers show you screen shots and game videos of what the game is suppose to look like and then when you buy the game and start to play it you find out the game looks and acts totally different. The first thing the game developers need to do is do away with the gigantic weapon's crosshair circle that is permanently in front of you every where you go. You can't get rid of it. It is very annoying to have a gigantic crosshair circle in front of you everywhere you go. It ruins the game because the graphics are great and then you have this stupid huge crosshair circle that is constantly in front of you blocking your view. I didn't see this gigantic weapon's crosshair circle in any of the game's screenshots or videos. So why put it in the game? I don't get it. Second, give the player a choice on how to set up your Xbox 360 game controller. I don't like how the controls are set up now on the game controller and you can't change them. When I'm using a weapon, I like the aim button for using your iron cross sights in front of the controller. I don't like the way it is set up now by pressing the right stick down to try to aim a weapon. It is on the same side as the firing button on your controller. You can't change it. What is up with that? On the main menu in the game where options selection is, you can't really do anything to change the game. In fact there are hardly any choices at all to change the game settings. It almost feels like the game developer are saying your going to play the game the way we tell you to and you can't change anything. Hey we're not babies. Let us have the the options or choices on how to set up and play the game.
Game developers need to give a player choices on how to play a game. Let the player decide how they want to play the game. Don't force the player to be stuck playing a game one way and that is it. I recommend getting Hour of Victory only after the game has been fix with patches. Playing the game the way it is set up now is way too frustrating. I love World War II games as long as there done right by the game developer.
(Quick Update: I contacted the game publisher Midway to see if you can change anything in the game and they told me that you are stuck with the game the way it is. I am very disappointed. It is really sad. The game had so much potential. This will be another game that will be hitting the bargain bin in the near future.)
What this game does is give you a small taste of what is coming out later on this year when on August 28, 2007 Medal of Honor: Airborne comes out. Now there is a game that looks like it being done right by the game developers. That is definitely going to be one of top games of the year. I can't wait for Medal of Honor: Airborne to come out. Even though Hour of Victory has it faults, I guess it will just have carry me over until Medal of Honor: Airborne comes out later on this summer.

Guitar Hero Aerosmith Review

Guitar Hero Aerosmith
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Overall Guitar Hero Aerosmith was an entertaining buy. I would only recommend this game to the die hard Aerosmith fan. The game is interesting in the fact that it takes you down the biographical road of Aerosmith as you progress through the career mode. The game features fairly realistic characters of the band as well as video interviews in between each venue. The career is a wimpy 31 songs only 20-21 songs of which are even by Aerosmith. The game does offer 40 tracks overall. If you are looking for some easy achievements this is the game for you, it is nothing like the achievements of GHIII.
Overall i would say this is fan buy only.

NBA 2K7 Review

NBA 2K7
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Smooth as silk fluid gameplay and animations are the stars of this show. Decent Next-gen graphics that cannot be fully appreciated unless on high-def. Those who say otherwise, must be kidding. There is no way the original Xbox or PS2 could handle such renderings. Renderings, animations, shooting and dribbling styles are practically personalized for every player. Each character looks remarkably like their real life counterparts (in a somewhat cartoon-like fashion) with a few scary exceptions mentioned in other reviews found here. It looks like a souped up arcade in the tone of graphics and powerful fluidness that plays strictly like a sim. And this is where the game falls on its face if you are coming off of Live.
The controls at first chance seem unnatural, clumsy and backwards. Pulling off jukes, crossovers etc is not controlled by the right-stick and who knows why. Instead the signature 2K Isomotion (fancy dribbling) as they like to call it is handled by holding down the right trigger (the one you are already using for running, turbo) and using the left-stick (yes, the one that you are already using for movement). Jabbing the left stick around in specified directions while holding the right-trigger will cause your player to perform crossovers, jukes and other various ankle breakers.
However, if you are like me and you are coming off of Live -- you'll continually find yourself going to the right stick to pull off such moves. Which instead shoots the rock as the right-stick is assigned to the shot-stick (isomotion for a variation of Js, post-ups, lay-ups and dunks). Imagine how frightening this can be at first for former Live players. I'm dribbling down the court with Nash, I go to pull a cross over on my opponent to give me some space to make a run yet instead (accidently hit the right stick) I fork up a brick well beyond the arch. Left astonished and with my pants down, the D grabs the easy board and goes for the fast break on the return. I want to stomp on my controller into pieces before the end of the first quarter of my first game.
Now, don't get me wrong -- the shot stick actually starts to make sense after a few disastrous plays but comes with a heavy learning curve. One that is very awarding when succesful and even more so if ever truly
mastered. But it'll take some time. Your first drained three with your favorite star (ie Nash for Cash)feels like an overwhelming accomplishment in itself. Remember, this game is a sim and a strict one at that. If you are looking for the easy ride and mediocre learning curve, look elsewhere.
This is the golf of NBA video games; Frustrating, demands devotion and will kick your a__ as soon as you think you have it figured out. But with great challenge comes great awards and that couldn't be any truer here. Each play down the court will have to be well planned and executed; this game leaves little room for error. The days of 2nd nature, almost thoughtless gameplay have been throw out the window. Live fans will shreak in horror as I have and will want to run the otherway. Give 2k7 some time, patience and little bit of effort to grow accustom to the controls and you may find this game more awarding than any other you played before it. The shot stick is very intuitive and maybe too much so for its own good. The days of one button for every type of shot are long gone. Yet realize the shot stick allows you (the player) to almost fully control exactly what your player executes that is very dynamic to each scenario. Instance: Take the ball down w/ Nash (ofcourse), I cross-over dribble (pushing the left stick in the opposite direction of my ball hand while holding the right trigger), open up some space, I lead pass (w/ the B button) to Marion who jukes left and spins right (Isomotion glory) and drives to the hole. Shaq comes to meet the drive to the hole, I pump fake with Marion (quick jab on the shot-stick) and throw a behind the back pass (Right trigger + A button) to Stoudemire who throws down a power dunk or reverse or cocked slam (fancy) based on which direction I throw the shot-stick while holding the right trigger. Or I could go for the layup by moving the shot-stick w/o holding the right trigger. Or throw it back to Nash, pull down on the shot-stick and release at the peak of his jump for the tri-facto.
Case in point, the controls are difficult to master but enable endless possibilities and that is where all the thrills and fun of this game come from -- but not without painful frustration to learn them.
Notes: Isomotion can be tough to chew, getting used to the left-stick to both move and perform isomotion jukes, dribbles will never quite feel like 2nd nature. Dunks and lay-ups are way too difficult to pull off,
I love the variety and options but missing easy buckets happen too often. Free-throws are intuitive as you use the shot-stick (pull down and release at the verge of forward momentum for a perfect shot, every player has his own unique style for shooting free-throws).
Update: You can use the X button for shooting, easy buckets in the paint, layups and dunking. The dunks, layups and post-ups are more straight-forward than fancy or controlled but if you want the sure-shot bucket in the paint, its usually best to go with the X button than over-complicating the situation with the shot-stick. The shot-stick comes in handy for tri-factos or mid-range jumpers as holding the right stick and then releasing at the peak of the jump feels more natural. It also comes in handy for wide open fast breaks when you want to devestate your opponents with the windmill, power slam, cocked slam or various other fancy dunks. The shot-stick is also useful if your in a scenario that calls for the reverse dunk/layup, tear-drop or various post-up moves (ie hook, fade).

Fight Night Champion Review

Fight Night Champion
Average Reviews:

I will say this upfront,I am giving this game a 3 out of 5 for one reason ONE PUNCH KNOCKOUTS!
Pros:
Amazing looking game
Control scheme is differant but it works (Great for old pros and newbies alike)
Champion Mode was great!
Legacy Mode may be the most we seen from the Franchise yet
Cons:
One Punch Knockout!! (Really?.....Really?)
Multiplayer is over powered with the ability to buy perks and xp
Multiplayer is still a little "buggy" (more an annoyance than an issue)
ONE PUNCH KNOCKOUTS!!!!! (Are you serious EA thats what you are bringing to the table?)Allow me to explain why One-Hit KO's warranted being listed twice. So I am fighting this kid, right, and I have dominated him for 7 rounds, knocked him down twice, avoided big shot, went to the body and wore him out all together. Ding! Eighth round starts I go in for more of the same, the kid can only throw one punch before hes too tired to swing, I decide I have tired of it and want to just finish this match here. I move in for the win, he throws a Right Hook that catches me and "flash" KO's me. REALLY!!!??????? SERIOUSLY!!??? Turns out this kid bought an XP packand leveled his Right Hook all the way. Is this fair? NO! I understand the online pass thing , and frankly I can live with it. I understand its a buisness and they need to protect an income flow, however I feel like EA cheapened thier own multiplayer experience by allowing player to seriously overlevel thier boxers from the get go.
Well now thats out of the way, the game is actually really fun. Champion Mode grabs hold and doesnt let go. The story of Andre Bishops Rise, Fall, and Vengence is truly a masterpiece. Legacy Mode will keep you busy for days. Custimzation options fo ryour fighter are through the roof. This game is visually stunning. This game is a ton of fun, I am not regretting this purchase for a second.
This Game is a definite step in the right direction, just be advised although the thought of winning a World Chamionship with a created boxer sounds very appealing, beware of the right hook!! If you can live with that, This game is buyable, heck id say its buyable on the single-player alone.
Thank you for reading, I hope this helps!

UFC Undisputed 2010 Review

UFC Undisputed 2010
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I thought this game was very well thought out, and very well executed. As soon as I played the game demo off Xbox Live I was hooked. I bought a copy of it and it far outdoes the demo. I've played many of the Fight Night Games, and found them okay, but all together boring when all you do is just repeatedly knock guys out. In this game there are submissions, TKO's, and knockouts, not to mention the extensive ground game, clinch game, cage game, and striking game.
The striking system is excellent, and is ultimately more fun than any regular boxing game, with superman punches, ducking left hooks, and a host of other moves you can train your fighter to learn. The striking system while it still needs some work, you can duck, dodge, and come back with brutal counter attacks.
The submission system, is by far my favourite part of the game, I've knocked pleanty of people out, but there is something about twisting somebody's limbs, until finally screaming in pain they tap. There are so many submissions it's almost impossible for your specific fighter learn them all. The submission system is highly advanced, and is directly tied to your stamina bar. Instead of button mashing for this year's title, the new way to make them tap the mat, is the shining system, in which you rotate the right stick, as clean as fast as possible, to lock in your deadly submission. but don't be fooled submissions can be difficult, but once learned are the most enjoyable thing to do. Learning how your opponents energy and stamina bar relate to the submission, once that is learned, you can in the third round after losing the fight suddenly you put your opponent in rubber guard, and slap on a gogoplata, your opponent taps, and you watch in satisfaction, as you get up bleeding, but the Ultimate winner.
The graphics and smoothness of the game also make this amazing. When you do a flying armbar, it really has the amazing graphics as you jump up, flip your legs around your opponents head, extend your hips, and watch as they collapse and tap in agonizing pain, the graphics are amazing, and when superman punch somebody and watch there mouth guard, and half the blood in their mouth go flying you will know why.
The presentation is great in career mode, and they did a really good job of making you feel like an ultimate figher. There is so much more to this game, but you will have to buy it and find out the rest.

Game Party: In Motion Review

Game Party: In Motion

Kinect is a very new system and finding interesting ways to use it remains a challenge. Mini game collections are in no short supply this early in the peripheral's life and at least the premise is sound. Execution is key. I think Dance Central and, to a lesser extent, Kinect Sports got it right, or perhaps right enough. Games like Sonic Free Riders demonstrated how a potentially good game can be ruined by difficult controls.
Then there's Game Party in Motion (GPiM). I'm not familiar with WB making decent games, but I nonetheless had hopes that GPiM could provide some good old fashioned entertainment. It has an impressive lineup of games including darts, horseshoes, and skee ball. The menu system/navigation went for simplicity and is fairly easy to work through once you get the hang of activating the confirm and cancel commands. To confirm, you hold your right hand around waist level without extending the arm. You can put your hand directly off to the side, a little in front of your or behind you. Cancel is the same with the left hand; if you had to extend your arm, it would conflict with the system pause, so this slightly odd position is to maintain consistency which is NOT itself a bad thing. More on that in a bit.
The tracking in the minigames ranges from passable to infuriatingly awful. In the bean bag toss, for instance, no amount of lateral throwing motion made the bags travel anywhere off of dead center and I could not for the life of me find any correlation between the speed of my throw and the distance traveled by the bag. It's just too easy to throw straight in the precision games and too hard to get the distance/power right. Games like the arcade style basketball shooting don't recognize certain throwing motions. Throwing from the waist was fine, but a standard freethrow form (hands over head) had the game prompt me to step back further even when there was no more room to do so (and using the Kinect tuner, my hands were indeed visible throughout the motion from well before that distance). Pacing is also a problem. By default, there is a countdown before your actions have influence on the game, presumably so you can get move around without accidentally throwing something. However, you can also do the gesture for Cancel to essentially pause the game, requiring a subsequent Confirm before you can start playing again. On top of that, the countdown is far too long and on certain longer games having to wait five seconds after each and every dart/throw/shot is absurd and makes every single game seem needlessly tedious.
One of the stranger behaviors of this game is use of primary hands. You have to dig through the options to find where to switch between left and right handed play, and this cannot be performed in game; if you miss it, you have to quit and try again. The game does not even try to infer which hand you are trying to play with. And this may have been deliberate. Why, you ask? GPiM does not support left handed players. Yes it lets you pick the option, but think about it for a second. What if you are trying to play one of the many games that uses an underhand throwing motion? Where is your left hand during it? That's right, it's roughly waist level from start to finish. That means a typical left-handed underhand throw is recognized by the game as Cancel, aborting the throw and requiring one to motion Confirm to give it another go.
As a lefty, this is inexcusable. Roughly half the game is impossible for me to play and the other half I still have to worry about the poor tracking and shoddy mechanics. This is easily the worst motion control I've seen on the Kinect so far (yes, worse than Sonic). This would make for a terrible iPhone game, let alone a $40 console title. Don't buy it. If you are thinking about it, close your hand in a car door instead. If you are thinking of getting it for someone else as a gift, skip it and just stab them with a sharp instrument. Repeatedly. The waiting room of the hospital will provide hours more entertainment than this pile of garbage. I suppose if you really hate someone, you can gift it to them, but stabbing is still cheaper.
